Project for this weekend.Just before I start does any one have this and does anyone know if the insert just sits in (after i remove the stock runners)and the gasket goes on top (just like the photo)Or will it be self-explanatory when I have it apart these come as two separate pieces?

You remove the stock runner, stick the HV3 in in their place, and reinstall like normal, with the gasket between the UIM and LIM.

On the gasket i had these little clips that were suppose to hold this tube in place.. does anyone know what to do with the tube?

On my 99 I trimmed the clips from the gasket that held the tube and left the tube off. Have had it this way for almost a year now.

Got it in anyone can check out some pics on my photobucket:2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT pictures by KERKER48 - Photobucket

Everything went well as for that tube I just got it to wedge against the insert and it seems to hold it in really good (I guess we'll see) took it for a quick blast I can't really feel too much of a difference but when I first did my rockers I did not notice too much either at first but then as I drove it more I could notice.I have a U-bend delete still to put in "going tomorrow".Also going to change the resonator at the same time to a magna flow there are two sizes I can get which do you think is better they are both 2.5" in/out 5"x 14" body or 4"x 18" body?

YES!!! thats what i did too. I trimmed the clips and took out the tube.. Im no longer scared.

the longer the better with the res. Why are you replacing the stocker? Unless it is damaged it is a waste of money unless you like rasp and just dont like the stocker.

There is something loose inside the res. and it rattles that's why i want a new one
my custom exhaust guy say's a shorter one will be better.Guess I'll wait and see how it sounds going in next Monday.

shorter isnt better on these cars. the catback isnt restrictive and if he thinks it is just slap him for me.

my friend was trying to say that on his grand national he had a glass pack and ran a 11 then he took it off and ran .97 sec faster on his 1/4 mile. Does this make sense?

You didn't feel a big difference? Well damn the hv3 is supposed to be THE mod for a gt (and a tune) but anyways..I guess I'm 19362063963% sure I'm top swapping then lol

when I owned an N/A car I put an HV3 in it. I lost minimal low end, but with shift points at around 6k it really does help at the top end. Makes good with the GT1 cam too after I put the cam in I was running 14.7's.

I do notice a little difference now but I still have the u-bend in it and they say the more mods you put in the more restrictive the u-bend becomes hopefully when I get rid of that it will help out.
