• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Grand prix gt exhaust

dont get a cat back. Get either headers or get a Powerlog/downpipe w/ u bend delete. If I were NA and had 600 I would get a plog, dp, programmed pcm from 3800 and if I had enough money yet I would get an HV3.

dont even waste your money. you cant make that GT fast unless you pour more money into it than the whole car is worth. top swap it, turbo kit it, or drive it as is.

If you are serious about top swapping it, skip the HV3 and just get headers, that way when you top swap you can drop pulley sizes right away too.

Your going to need a bit more than that to drop pulleys.

600? Id get 1.9 roller rockers or an xp cam to go with that top-swap.

he has stock exhaust yet......why make the engine flow better if he can't get it out of the exhuast yet? Get the exhaust mods first and FWI then start engine modding... he only has 600 dollars too...so he has to wait for pcm and top swap until later

My bad, i assumed he had all the supporting mods for the swap. To drop pulleys on a blown l36, you would need way more than just a set of headers.

For any top-swap, you need to have all the supporting mods.

-scanner
-104's or equivalent
-180* t-stat
-plog & 3" d/p (headers are ideal and you would need them to drop pulley sizes later)
-some form of intake
-rockers or cam would be ideal

as far as pulley size dropping goes for a 3.5"...you need all the above and probably be looking at...

-103's or equivalent
-cam or 1.9 rockers (cam would be better)
-ported s/c with larger t/b
-42Lb injectors
-nasty tune

he already has a CAI, and the plugs and t-stat total are about $25 dollars.........other than a tune, he would need nothing other than the exhaust to do the top swap. And I was just saying how he could spend that $600 to benefit him now, or in the future if he does decide to go top swap. His headers or plog/DP and the tune are the most expensive pieces to do that.(not counting the cam or rockers as you dont need them and can add them later at any time)

Imo rockers or cam should be part of any top-swap but, that's just me. If you add them later you'll just have to buy gaskets twice.

Everyone got WAY off track from his original question lol, if you have $600, grab a set of headers. If you get them used you'll still have quite a bit left over as well for other mods like an FWI or a tune.
