Offsets

Will the '94-'04 Mustang wheels with the +24mm offset work on the GP's? I know the 2005+ rims have a +35mm offset and would be better for our cars, but all the rims I like are between '94-'04.

I also want to go 18 x 9"

Any help would be appreciated

18x9 you gotta go +36 mm im 17x9s with +26 mm and im still fighting the rubbing and might have to switch tire sizes....get +35 it sticks out enough to look sexy with out rubbing...prob still gonna be rolling your fenders though.....

Can you get away with the +24mm offset in the 17 x 9's?

I really wanted the 18x 9's They just don't make the rims I wanted in the +36mm offset

no they are 2003 svt cobra rims....they have a +26 mm offset and are 17x9 but im rubbing with a 255 tire and may need switch 245 tire...

Can you use spacers with the +24 mm rims? I know you would have to use longer wheel studs.

When most of you guys rub with this offset, is it on the inside of the tire rubbing the strut or the outside rubbing the fender?

It's the outside rubbing the fender lip....

If this is correct, then the offset is from the backside edge of the rim to where the hub of the wheel would meet. Larger offsets means the hub is further from the backside edge putting the wheel closer to the inside of the car.

the lower the offset, the farther out the wheel sits. because of that low offset you rub on the fender lips. if it were a higher offset you would rub on the strut perch.

i should write a sticky on this stuff..

That is what I thought. I read up on it on a different forum, I was just trying to remember before I bought rims online.

Thanks for the info though. Much Appreciated!:th_thumbsup-wink:
