Mustangs

I agree 100% with zr1vette and 75% with minichopper. Mustangs don't suck but out of the new "big three" muscle cars that came out ('10 cobra, camaro, challanger) the cobra has the most horsepower but it's s/c! The maro isn't and if you supercharged the camaro itd **** on the cobra. Boo for ford making bad engines that NEED forced induction to compete, yay gm for making badass engines. (but boo for bankrupcy =\ )

Opinion's are different then people crying.

OOOO You must have that new high tech computer that allows you to SEE people...because I have read and read this thread and I havent seen anyone crying or hinting about crying. I just see people who don't like the mustangs and then some guy who got sand in his vagina cause he is a mustang owner:th_king-evil: I said it once I will say it again! My first car was a 97 Mustang GT my mom owned a 04 Cobra. But I agree with most everyone on here most stangs are overrated and the owners are douchebags.:th_thumbsup-wink:

The only Mustang I'd sit in is a '69 Fastback ;)

The only decent Mustang owners I see are ones with the older models and are older themselves. Too many stupid teenagers have their hands on a fast car and aren't smart enough to know how to control it properly. I see more mangled mustangs here than anything else.

Just last week we had an 18 year old in a Mustang kill a 45 year old woman on the back road flying around the corner, left of center, hit her head on. Mother of two. Needless to say anyone can kill someone in a thousand pound car, but giving a teenager a Mustang, BMW, or anything else remotely quick is stupid. Now unless you know your kid is responsible... When I have a kid, I'd never buy mine one.

My parents never let anyone ride with me when I had my GT and I was fine with that. They still don't let me ride with anyone other than adults, I have to drive my boyfriend around and he's got an old Ranger.

Maybe I do, you don't know.

Exactly. I totally respect people that earn one and especially one of the older ones. If you took a visit to my old high school about 10% of the cars there are mustangs and 40% are taurus's :th_laugh-lol2:

Yeah, same applied to both High Schools I went to... However, one kid got a brand spankin' new Jag for his Graduation present. It crapped out on him on week one :th_biggrin2:

I go both ways on the Mustang Owner Opinions. I've met some Older Pontiac Owners that were real cool until i told them what i drive and then they became douches. You get douches everywhere. Some people just get nice car and have an instant woody and think they are bad asses because of what they think they're car is capable of.

Hell i think my car is pretty damn fast most of the time until i go to the track and it only runs 14.1 @ 98 at the moment with minor bolt on's.

I met a guy at the track a few years back when the New Model Mustang GT came out. Super nice guy! We lined up and I smoked his ass I told him later I was sure he was going to smoke me and he claimed he's been running 14.5's all night long and kept red lining. He wasn't mad that I beat him and I didn't brag. He told me he was impressed by my car and wished he could get a tune to unlock the higher RPM's to build more power.

This isn't a regular camaro I'm going to compare to the GT500, this a Hennessey Camaro. yes, built by some very reputable people.

Just so people don't think I'm pulling **** out my ass here is a link to where I got all this information: Offtopic.com

Hennessey claims 562 hp is the result — and we measured a gob-smacking 559 hp on the chassis dyno, although it was running on an unspecified witch's brew of high-octane fuels during the test.

yes, thats 560 horsepower from a super charged 6.2L engine, thats 20 more horsepower than the GT500 which is almost a liter smaller. Not to mention that the GT500 runs off pump gas, not a "witch's brew of high-octane fuels".

Fortunately the HPE550 wears massive 315-millimeter-wide rear Pirelli P Zero tires that turn most of that insane engine speed into forward thrust. This car accelerates hysterically; there's so much momentum that you have to fight the G-forces to shift gears. And the sound is crushing. This is full-immersion acceleration — you could drown in the HPE550's sensory overload.

The GT500's rear Goodyear F1 Supercar tires are "only" 285mm wide and it takes more skill to launch the Ford perfectly. Fortunately, Ford's SVT division has actually built some of that into the GT500's throttle. This isn't an engine on a runaway gallop to its redline; the first inches of pedal travel ease into the thrust gradually.

Bottom line, however, is that the 2010 Hennessey Performance HPE550 Camaro is quicker. Still drinking that high-octane concoction, the Hennessey HPE550 stomped to 60 in only 4.3 seconds (4.0 ticks with 1 foot of rollout like on a drag strip) while the Shelby GT500 (on California 91 octane) took 4.6 seconds (that's 4.3 seconds with the rollout) to do the same trick. The quarter-mile screams by in 12.1 seconds at 120.1 mph in the Hennessey Camaro and 12.5 seconds at 115.3 mph in the Mustang.

yes, .3 seconds behind in the 0-60 and .4 in the quarter mile but that has a lot to do with the tires.

So we've come to find that the Camaro is a bit faster and more hardcore in performance but it doesn't beat the GT500 by enough of a lead to prove anything and still doesn't provide the ability to be driven daily.

Oh yeah, it the Camaro cost $62,000 all said and done and the GT500 cost $50,000......one more thing, the GT500 has a factory warrenty. I can't stand when people complain about how the GT500 is more expensive but then you take a Camaro and build it even better and it doesn't beat the GT500 and cost $12,000 more still yet.

BTW, I've always been a fan of ford but still drive a GM every day. You guys need to stop bashing mustangs as every car has there pro's and con's
There is no reason to BASH on mustangs, honestly to each their own, but if people can't see the fact that they are actually good cars, then you're just as ignorant as anyone else.

I have to agree.
