Engine block question for everyone

so my dad found a complete engine 3800 NA t 50k o the clock vin k obvouisly came out of a 2003 grand prix gt. THE ONLY DIFFERNCE BETWEEN MY l67 and THE VIN K block my dad found is compression ratio correct???!!!??? ive been trying to explain it but it doesnt seem to be working to well...... he thinks we can get the block tear it down to the short block we need use my old parts from my l67 and everything is all peachy... i told him in order for it to be safe you need better flow mods correct? such as headers/3inch downpipe, colder t stat, and a intake. after these mods it should be safe to run my blower and lim and heads from my l67 correct. the reason for needing more FLOW mods is because of the high compression ratio from the vin k block correct guys! if im missing out anything please let me know my dad doesnt think ive done my research... so everyone please chime in and agree or disagree and why please thank you.:th_peaceout:

yes the bottom end has higher compression. if you put your top end on it, you will need some tuning just to run the stock pulley. im sure the top swap guys will chime in soon.

The blocks from the heads down are ALL the same for any seriesII or seriesIII engines.

The compression ratio is the only difference. Yes you do need more mods to run the higher N/A compression ratio than you do the Supercharged compression ratio wth the same setup.

Could you get away with it so you can get your car back together and running? YES! Just take it easy on it. That's all.

your gonna need some breathing mods, at least

-plog
-3" d/p
-a good flowing intake

^that would probably be ok with a 3.8 pulley

and you might want to invest in a scanner, so you can keep an eye out for knock, and your going to have to tune it as well.

the engine we are probably going to buy is a complete long block minus a alternator AC and starter TDC. dont you think we sell the heads, balancer shaft, "crank on my current block" valve covers, water pump, ignition coils, upper l32 intake, lim, throttle body etc the parts i dont need from the l32 block sell those and get some heavy duty mods with that money so its basicaly free doesnt that sound like a good deal man!?! some headers and a colder tstat would be good for the l32 block with my upper l67 stuff correct guys?

im thinking colder t stat some pacestter headers with a 3inch dp 4inch fenderwell intake and a tune will be just fne right guys? and to get money for all this i can sell the extra parts from the longblock if we were to get it right?

yep, that works. Looks like a good low mileage motor.

btw good luck selling the entire top of an L36 block, no one wants them. I tried selling my old parts to get headers and i still have them, months later.

i didnt wanna hear that =[ lol but yeah man i think it looks and sounds like a nice engine for the money man im just wondering though it will be a increase in power compared to my l67 shortblock correct? haha but w.e im just thinking though since this way ill have a higher compression ratio and with the blower ill have even more so if i get a tune some headers 4inch fenderwell "lowes" intake, colder t stat maybe a 3.4 pulley i dont see what if any problems can be causes ya know what im trying to say?

ohh ok well w.e i dont care about supercharger stuff aslong as i can use my stock crap and get this car moving again =[

oooo sweet though thats what i wanted to know so with the lower block a l36 and me putting all my other goodies on her from my l67 it will have even more balls your saying? hahaha cool lol still sucks all this $(^$ happened...

anything else i should keep in mind guys if i get the l36 block and when i start building it with my l67 stuff i hear EVERYTHING is direct bolt on huh? is there anything i have to be worried or conserned about?

Do not swap anything over form the shortblock. Swap the entire engine into your car.

from my block and parts "currently" we want to swap my heads lim and blower and duh all the asssories over onto the l36 shortblock
