INFORMATION Detailed: Rynoman03's GTP

The Blue One
Might not be a tip or trick but here is what I did to help out a local guy...pics too!!

Ryan (Rynoman03) and I had been trying to set this up for awhile and since the Green Bastard (reptile) got a hold of him to tune his car after the ported goodies, figured since he was all the way out here (2 hour drive)might as well detail the car too ;) Didn't take too many before shots but it wasn't too bad...we took the spoiler off and ended up having to repaint the trunk as it was THAT BAD:( All in all though the car turned out great and yet another black car that has been jew-tastically detailed in and out ;D I'm just glad Ryan was as satisfied as I was when it was all said and done. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Process:

Cleaned Interior with Meguiars Synthetic Detailer Spray (kinda funky but you'll never see a more showroom looking finish IMO.)

Hand Wash/Dry Panel by Panel from Top to Bottom
Turtle Wax Liquid Clay Bar'd
Wiped Down again to take off any white residue
Meguiars 2.0 Swirl Remover and #26 Hi-Gloss Yellow Finish
Polished Eagle Alloy Rims with Turtle Wax Chrome Polish
Dressed Tires with Armor All Tire Foam

Was debating the fact of using a cutting compound but after hitting it with this new Swirl Remover I came across...it REALLY takes the cake and made this thing shine like new even before the wax was applied. And without further ado...pics 8-)

The Arrival all opened up

More Pics...we need to up this 10 pic limit deal lol

The Green Bastard even paid a little visit before the Bass Pro Shop Car Show and did some repainting and prep work on the deck lip...even tuned the car for him while I was cleaning it...talk about service...that's how we roll here in Missery :p

And...the finished product...Car looks brand new...now damnit Ryan get your rear bumper repainted ;D I loved working on it man, made me do a triple take of how good it turned out and how well that black came back to life :)

who's the nerd with the green shirt and glasses?:th_nanana:. i have a question on the buffer machine i never use one before, but can you damage the paint or create more swirl marks if you don't know what you doing?

ive gota random orbital 10" polisher in my trunk i bought and havnt used yet, im hoping i can clear up swirls too...

If your using a high speed buffer yes. You can actually burn the paint. But the cheap random orbital polishers are pretty fool proof.

yeah, kill the civic before touching the GP - i plan on practicing my painting and buffing on my front bumper which is being replaced lol

HELLO!!! I'M THE NERD :p Thanks Mr. Jackass LMAO!!

I got a Craftsman Random Orbital Buffer for Christmas from a buddy last year and I love it...I can be lazy about it and not have to worry about it damaging the paint and still come out with results just as good as a high speed orbital but without the risk ;)

I just use the Meguiars line for the most part...and love it...IT is idiot proof :D

how well does that swirl remover work?? and sorry for sounding dumb but the yellow stuff? is that like your final wax coat?

Swirl remover works awesome...and it goes on after the cutting compound and before the 1st coat of wax. The Hi-Tech #26 Yellow is always my finisher...it is AWESOME!! :D

are you going to bring the buffer to branson? you can buff my car and after you done i promise i'll buy you a happy meal:th_laugh-lol2:

how do you like the liquid clay bar stuff?

Just my .02 for the same price you can get a Meguiars kit that has 2 bars, Quick detailer, micro fiber towel and a sample cleaner wax. Why wouldn't you buy the Mequiars? Anyways my little bro did his Cav. with the liquid and we were curious to the difference so we went over the hood with a bar. There was still quite a few contaminates on it. Enough that I was surprised.

im gathering ideas now for when i eventually get down and detail mine
i can invision a whole weekend of cleaning lol
