Do you need any supporting mods to run this? I was reading some about it and almost sounds like a wet kit...and I know for that its good to change ur plugs to a colder plug. Would you have to tune your car for it? Anyone please explain!!!!!! Thanks guys!
 


Yes. Tuning will def be required. Other than that no supporting mods at all. Which is the good thing about alky.
 
Most people run meth kit in the same fashion a dry nitrous system would be hooked up, except with meth it is better to have it past the maf. It is very hard to do an effective wet kit on our cars due to the design of the LIM.

You can run meth kit without tuning but to take full advantage of it tuning is a must.
 
rmm...Well I been looking into everything I don't want to put anything on the car to "hurt" it. I want to have all my mods lined up and do it all right. After the 3.4 should I IC then alky or does it pretty much do the same? What other mods would I need? Also what IC would I need?!
 
2 nozzles in the LIM, 1 in the TB spacer/ blower inlet. that is the best method of attack if youre really looking to make it work well, but an intercooler will always be a more effective mod (it also costs more).

Ya...I was looking at them. I just dont know what to do! I guess my big thing is get my tune and get my crap on! Then go from there!!! I need to stop buying stuff my closet looks like a part store!
 


put your parts on first and see what you think. a lot of people are content with a 3.4 setup with the right tune on it.

haha noo im not going to get rid of them! DanGTP lives about 3hrs from me and he said he would help with the tune. I know he is a buy guy so im going to get with him sometime and try to get my tune. I will getting some extra money and I thought about getting my own HP but I really dont need it...I don't see myself running my car alot or modding it ALOT. I have the EFILive and I use it ALL the time. So I dunno..But ya Bio I have heard that with the 3.4 your all excited then about a month later its boring. LOL
 
methanol injection is actually more efficient that an intercooler. Intercooler can only bring temps down to ambient temps. Methanol injection can bring down the temps more. Some of the main grand prix vendors push against methanol injection because it cuts intercooler sales and why they say it does not work . But if you look around at other cars like cobalts ss, "which have eaton 62" mustangs/lightnings "which haveEaton 112" lots of them run this... So don't read into some of the others B.S. about it not working. Shoot most ALL buick grand nationals, run methanol injection. Most modded subbies, wrx, speed 3, speed6, srt4 run alky. Just some key people in this market that preach against it because it effects there pocket book.

X2 the reason why methanol is not the best solution on our cars is the setup of the LIM on our cars. Location is key and there isn't much room to work on a L67 lim. A good solution would be to make a phenolic spacer with a couple of nozzles positioned near the V outlet of the supercharger.
 
Umm, I listed off the eaton suppercharger that commonly is on it from the factory :) But the cars thats its most common on are turboed. Its just as effective. Just the intercooler vendors put up alot of bad info about it not working.

I have played with meth injection on quite a few eaton supercharged cars. No need to make it over complicated and run the nozzles after the blower.

Chance. Could you possibly explain to me how meth can drop the charge temp to below ambient? Just so I'll know. I was not aware that Meth could do this.And how much below ambient are we talking?

It removes heat. Ever get acetone or something like that on your hand? Know how cold that is,even though it is warmer around you? Same thing.
 


its possible with the right setup, but if youre looking for a realistic gain then you cant expect it to outperform an intercooler.
 
rmm...I thought methonal injectors was not something that just sprayed every now and then. But again I dont get paid to think! I know what injectors do but I guess I was thinking it was a non stop thing kinda like burning fuel. But reading about it...its more like a "nos" you set it to spray when you need it. Or am I wrong? Or am I thinking about something else that gives you constant flow..rmm...
 
no, you would only spray the meth when youre in boost otherwise youd be wasting a lot of money.

you could use it constantly by just using it in your gas tank. thatd make your car really fast if you tuned it right.
