I like how the titles says "Official" when it isn't official until GM releases it in a press release. Lol.
Anyone saying that other brands like GMC or Cadillac should be axed either doesn't understand what part the brands play and how many cars they sell or they have emotional attachment to Pontiac. Or both.
Cadillac is a luxury line and fulfills that market. They sell a lot of cars for it too. GMC is a luxury truck line and also makes higher end HD trucks. They complete Buick with a truck line. Buick could be considered an in between from Chevy and Cadillac known as an entry luxury.
Most likely, Pontiac's really good cars will be absorbed into Chevy (G8 and Solstice). Look at it, and what is Pontiac any more? A rebadged Chevy Aveo, a rebadged Chevy Cobalt, a rebadged Holden Commodore, and the Solstice. Pontiac is directly competing with a brand that is integral to GM (Chevy) and is best if it's left behind.
I'm still in favor of keeping it as a niche brand (G8 and Solstice only) and selling them along side Chevy at their dealerships. Kinda like what Scion is to Toyota. Just a few different vehicles from their normal lineup.
Just wait for the press conference and we'll see what happens.
but I see SOO many GP on the road, they are a well balanced car you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for.
Well, they don't make GPs anymore so I don't see how that affects it. I might have bought a GP if I didn't know that an Impala or Monte are pretty much the exact same car with better interiors (and better exteriors, but that's just opinion).
