Jordan's 1987 Pontiac Fiero 3800SC Swap

So last June I bought an 87 fiero off a buddy for $150. What I thought was gonna be an easy fix turned out to be way worse after replacing so many parts I finally found out it was rod knock. Weird thing was it didn't sound like it at all it sounded like it was conning from the top and when id lay under the car and listen I could barely hear it. So I just last fall pulled the entire cradle and pulled the motor off. I knew that it was never gonna go back in. What came out was a almost ready to die 2.5 Iron duke with 90hp and what's going in is a 240hp 3800sc. I got a hold of a great guy named James and is making my custom wiring harness and programmed pcm for the swap. Another guy nicknamed Fierorog is gonna be making my custom motor/trans mounts, custom flywheel and alternator relocation/pwr steering delete bracket. The 3800 is going to be mated to a 5 speed F23 trans out of a 2001 Cavalier. My donor car for this project is a 2001 Pontiac grand prix gtp that I picked up for $350 because the owner lost the keys. Now thanks to a lot of guys on here the car is running great and I will be driving it to work and school till I can buy everything I need for this swap

nice! any pics? is it done or are you planning on starting the project soon? I couldnt tell from the last sentence of your post. how hard were the mounting brackets? did you weld them or bolt them in place? I had always wanted to do a fiero swap but wasn't certain on whether it'd be very difficult swap to grasp or not.

Can't wait to see pictures! I'm picking up my first fiero tomorrow if everything goes well. I think I'll end up doing the same swap, though I might be crazy enough to try my hand at the pcm programming and wire harness (I'm cheap! lol)

Lucky! It's a red 1984 SE w/ "roof rack". It's really really rough, but I'm up for a challenge! Being an 84 they only had the iron duke, but the good news is it's the auto trans, so the 4T65E 3800 swap will be a bit easier. I'll definitely be asking plenty of questions along the way! If you need wiring I can probably help! I should have pics tomorrow so I can start my own thread! :)
