Car really messed up at this point. Oil loss and now sounds like bearing or rod knock

Looks like when I changed the oil last on the car the gasket either had a failure or something as oil spewed up and all over the engine compartment leaving a trail down the street and when wife finally got the car home. Didn't go far at all down the road, it was about empty and now after changing the filter and PCV valve since it was clogged it now runs but has a knock that gets louder as the engine RPMs go up.

Sadly I found a good car to buy before this happened but backed out since was thinking I need to save money instead of have another monthly payment, sigh.

So is there anything I can do other than pull the oil pan and replace whatever is bad? Any higher weight oil or some magic in a bottle that may help fill any gap? I assume the bearing got scored or something with the oil pressure loss.

Comes at the worst time ever. After having a new baby and having to pay for about 6K in hospital bills and now car is fubar.

Sounds like I have to take a loss and just sell the car for whatever I can get for it. I cannot change an engine myself and have no guy friends to help out if I could get a new motor to swap in.

So car will be parted some and the rest sold. Bought a 2014 Impala so my life with this Gravd Prix is about over. Was a good 8 years and could of gone many more I'm sure.

Well you don't have to go far for an engine you can't throw a rock without hitting something with a 3.8 supercharged or N/A.

Honestly an engine is an easy job. There are guides on how to pull it safe and quick here, a motor would be cheap. Way cheaper than a new car.

Well I already got the car and its used but was a great deal and still under factory warranty. I had a new baby and kind of hard to do much else or take on a engine swap alone. While it would be alot cheaper its just not feasible right now.

Well it wouldn't be anytime soon I'd be working on it. It will get lower priority at this time. So I may end up keeping it and working on it. Not sure yet. It's stock besides a DHP PCM. I don't have room for a engine lift and place to put the old and a new engine. Though yeah I do appreciate any help I can get.
