• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

1998 GTP- New Rims

Re: check this out..

Finally got the new starter on today! Took her to car wash.
Still need to get 2 qt of trans oil then back to finding a vac leak i think. or call bill.
well see what happens next lol

Re: check this out..

Had the car running great for about two days. Now there is coolant splashing under the hood on the left side. i look far and deep. i cant seem to find where it is comeing from?... Would it be a water pump issue? What else could it be?

Re: Never ending issues!

water pump or lower elbow.

grab the water pump pulley, rock it back and fourth, if its got play in it its bad or on its way out.

Re: Never ending issues!

X2 on the coolant elbow. If they are still stock, then they will be plastic and probably very brittle by now.

Re: Never ending issues!

Im pretty sure all you have to remove is the alt bracket. Or just unbolt it enough to wiggle it out.

Re: Never ending issues!

thanks for the help! im sure ill be back in no time with the next issue!
gtp love 4--> :th_laugh-lol2:

Re: Never ending issues!

alt comes off, then remove its bracket. you can stick your fingers in the alt bracket, follow the outer most tube into the timing cover, if its wet you'll feel it.

you can also use a mirror and a flash light to see under the water pump for the snail trail from the weep hole under there.

I just used the same lugs from the stock rim.

Ok... I just picked up a set of 18" GT premium wheels, 2012's I think... Guy gave me the factory Mustang lugs and wheel lock kit. I am going to test fit a wheel one day this week just because... Mine won't be going on until mid summer since they came without tires... Gotta finish my rear suspension first.
