Subway's GT: Time to close my legs, it smells everywhere

So I hooked up a fuel ressure guage to see what pressures were like. When primed, the pressure would shoot up to about 50psi and then drop down to 0psi. When running, the car ran right at 45psi. Quickly revving the car resulted in it jumping up to around 50psi and then going back to 45. I also took the FPR hose off (when the car was not running) and smelt it. No strong gas smell.... I could hardly smell any gas, there was a very faint smell of it.

No particular area, but in the morning if I start it and open the hood, you get a smell of gas.

I'm thinking..it's likely that wonky jack job of a hack you did by the fuel filter.

It smells more in the front, and how would my "wonky hack job" cause it to smell?

Kinda self explanatory on that one.

Maybe one of your injector o-rings isn't seated well or your fuel line is leaking right where it meets the fuel rail.. those o-rings are pretty common.

But of the o-ring was bad, wouldn't it leak all the time? Once it starts running, it doesn't smell. Bill, I bet I did a better job than more than half of this forum could do.

Wipers..... Once you get to the 4th intermittent setting and below (5th setting, high setting, and low setting) the wipers act as if they are on high, no matter the setting. Well, if I have the wipers on high and come to a stop, there is this fairly loud clicking noise. Not sure why. But if I have the wipers on 4th setting, every time the come back down, there si this click and it sounds like it comes from the blinker stalk. Once I turn it to the 3rd setting (a working setting), the clicking stops. So 99% sure the stalk is bad and needs to be replaced.

Ring doesn't have to leak all the time. Say it only leaks a little when the motor rocks on start up and when you get on it hard. Because.. we all know the mounts need to be flipped for anything reasonable.

They disappear. Don't stay wet long or leave a puddle.

Combustible fumes sink in the air.

All leaks are a two way street... gas out, air in.

Thats all, carry on.

I don't know the root of the trouble, just seems theres a resistance to wisdom present. In all fairness, one user never really knows who the other "is". Bill and Scott have helped solve problems with many many cars just like yours. So if they tell you something that sounds like bad news, as in the case of yeah FPRs that are a little expensive, its unwise (IMO) to chase other explanations. Its safe to assume Bill is now and has always been on your car's side. The Cat in him enjoys playing with a catch so all is in fun. You seem to be doing ok with the thread name circus, so you'll be OK. Just re-read everything carefully and continue to seek clarity when needed. Again, read things carefully... then again. Then do the work, buy the part or whatever. With these cars, problems are usually small but don't always make sense at first. I have a very old understanding of the basics, yours is newer and things do get lost in translation.
