2016 W-Body 3800 Gathering

How is the Hotel situation around there? Its a solid 7-8 hour drive so im not one daying it.

Last year there were a little over 300 cars. This year it's opening up to G8's and SS'. They will have there own section. I travel almost 1400 miles round trip which I drive my GP.

It is because everyone who actually talks sh!t is too scared to drive here actually or is too scared when they see them face to face! But glad you will be coming again Sal and hope we can talk more than just a radio haha

Darryl who organizes this event usually chooses a hotel people can book rooms in to keep the group together and have a "good time" The hotel used to be near royal oak where the event was but now the venue has changed so the hotel will be changed as well.
 


The Official W-Body/3800 Gathering is back for 2016!

Join us on Saturday, June 25th, 2016, from 10 AM - 8 PM in Mt. Clemens, Michigan for the fourth annual W-Body/3800 Gathering!

As many of you know, our first three events were held at a location in Royal Oak, Michigan. We started off in 2013 with a partially empty parking lot, a few sponsors, and a modest showing of just over 100 W-Body and 3800 powered vehicles from across the Midwest. In 2014, we added a few sponsors, and broke the 200 vehicle mark. Fast forward to 2015, and we smashed even our wildest goals with over 300 vehicles attending; not to mention an appearance and sponsorship by almost every relevant parts and service provider for our platform.

It's no secret that by 2015, our event location was bursting at the seams. Each year, we set a goal to exceed the previous years attendance, features, and expectations. It is with this is mind that in 2016, we say a heartfelt goodbye to the City of Royal Oak, in search of a bigger, better W-Body/3800 Gathering.

Enter our new host, The Gibraltar Trade Center, 237 N River Rd, Mt Clemens, MI 48043.

Let me be the first to say, THIS IS EXCITING ON SO MANY LEVELS!

For those who do not know, The Gibraltar Trade Center is a staple of Southeastern Michigan, and a local favorite. It is one of the nations largest flea markets with over 300,000 square feet of indoor space. Gibraltar is home to hundreds of small businesses.

What is the best part about the new event location? The grounds of the Gibraltar Trade Center are absolutely massive, the parking lot is HUGE, and the Gibraltar ownership team are thrilled to have us on their grounds!

Now, it's time to look forward to some of the options and features we will have to offer at the 2016 W-Body/3800 Gathering which include:

X A mobile dyno (this is out of the question sorry too expensive to have)
- A concrete burnout pad (see the attached pictures)
- A massive covered outdoor structure for shelter from the summer heat
- Additional food and drink options
- Picnic tables (50+)
- Air-conditioned indoor shopping for all ages
- Endless parking for both spectators and show vehicles
- Outdoor bathroom options
- And much more!

As always, the event will include:

- Show classes and trophies
- Swap meet style parts sales from attendees
- Indoor bathrooms
- The attendance and sponsorship of many of the major parts and service providers for our platform
- DJ
- 50/50 raffle and prize drawings
- Free giveaways
- And much more!

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE: All vehicles (show vehicles as well as spectators) that enter the grounds of Gibraltar will be charged a $2 fee upon entering. This is the regular entrance fee for parking at the market, and helps support the ownership group that is hosting our event!

As always, a minimum $10 donation will be required per show vehicle (the same as 2015) which will be paid upon entering the show area.

NOTE: This year the G8/Chevrolet SS will be welcomed back at 2016 the event. The G8/Chevrolet SS's were part of the events in 2013 & 2014 but were eliminated from the 2015 event due to space constraints. We are thrilled to be able to welcome back these vehicles in 2016 and hope for a strong appearance from their platform.

P.S. - There is a pay-and-spray style car wash across the street. smile emoticon

Also just a quick note
WE WILL HAVE A SHOW AREA FOR Cars not in PLATFORMs we are allowing this year. So if you drive a COBALT or a GTO or whatever but wamt to come hang out and show off your car.... BRING IT
Its 2$ at gate per car load and 10$ at our gate per carload LOL
this Location is perfect for this Gathering :)
 
Which part of the lot will we be in Darryl? Do you happen to know if we will be on the West, South, or East lot?

We will be along East side which borders I-94 Freeway so if all goes as planned we should be able to see everyone coming into the Gathering
