Lol.

Re: Meatball Sub with Pickles

Lol, ok. But I'm considering changing my brake fluid. Gives me something to do to my car. My brakes are no where near soft or anything, they're actually pretty firm, but I'm sure the fluid is original, and it will give me something to check off on the maintence list.

Re: Meatball Sub with Pickles

This is a great thing to do. I would soak the bleeders for a few days in penetrating oil before you do it though. Only use a 10mm six point to loose/tighten them and ... I know it's likely not in your budget, but a power bleeder is the way to go.

If not.. get a buddy with a strong leg

Re: Meatball Sub with Pickles

I helped a buddy change out the brake fluid on his car. He thought I was being nice when I volunteered to be the one under the car. Half way through the second corner he realized that he got the raw end of the deal!

Re: Meatball Sub with Pickles

I don't think I'll buy a power bleeder. I'll just use a clear tube and soda bottle. Doesn't seem like a bad job to do. Any suggestions on which wheels to start with? I've read a few different ways..

then you'll need another person... the pedal has to be pushed down when the bleeder is tightened back up or it sucks air back in.

Re: Meatball Sub with Pickles

if your goal was to do a flush anyway , a gravity bleed just makes sense.

Re: Meatball Sub with Pickles

Just looking to get 90% of the old fluid out. And I would put the end of the tube in brake fluid so when I let off the pedal, it will not suck air.

why settle for 90% you will still have some air and some junk in the fluid do you really want that? hmmmm jared? me I like my brakes to feel nice and firm knowing that i have the freshest fluid in the lines. you really should get someone to help you. also make sure you close the bleader all the way or you wont be able to stop
