Actually..there's two 7mm bolts. Turn them til you feel them click. The click is the bottom thread hitting the top thread in the pcm. Tells you that you've finally turned it far enough.

So to swap in the new one when I get it, take out the 2 7mm bolts holding the PCM in, and then take out the bolt that holds the connector in like Sally said?

1 bolt 2 bolt , it's all the same. There are "bolts"' holding the ecu harness connector to the ecu itself. So you remove those bolts and pull it off.

Cept..you can't remove the bolts. they are held into the connector. By unthreading them.. you are pushing the connectors off the pcm. Watch for the rubber seals. Make sure they stay in the connector and not stuck on the old pcm. YOu want them to seal that connection.

Here's another question, if I do in fact need a case relearn with the tuned PCM, if I put my old one back in, will it still need a case relearn? And I'm still confuse on how to remove it....

Take a 7mm and go out to the car. Unscrew the two bolts on the tops of the connectors going to the pcm. Wiggle them off and you'll know exactly how to do it.

Some questions can't be fully answered, like if you need case learn etc. Plug it in and see if it fires up. I have not ever had a pcm not fire up. If it runs like absolute poop.. put the other back in, drive to whereever you are getting a case learn and put the new one in again. Problem solved

needing a security learn is far more common with a new pcm.

at least those are free to do in your driveway.

Any more specific and we will tell you exactly how many turns on the bolt until it's released from the ecu....

heres another tip, the bolt dont come out the plug. once its free spinning pull the plug off.

I was under the assumption there were bolts holding the PCM down AND bolts for the wiring harness. I got it now.

Oh, and it goes without saying, having the battery disconnected the whole time...
