• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

ILoveAudi's 98 GTP - Turbo Hoopty

That's basically what I already tried. Pulled it back off (which took forever with the turbo downpipe), made sure it was clean, and put some rtv on the gasket. These gaskets have been on and off quite a few times anyway. I should have replaced them during the turbo install.

operator error?

error 404 brains not found?

seriously though whats wrong there are a bajillion people to pm or talk to in order to unfvck a turbo setup.

I think the vc still leaks, he rtved the crap out of it and it still leaked I think. Then he went to have it tuned and hpt said the vins didn't match so his tuner had to email hpt and ask them to unlock it or something.

I'm just tired of ****ing with it. I've had the rear valve cover off twice trying to fix the oil leak. I can't get the car tuned. As of late, I have just wanted to sell it or burn it to the ground. I'm about to just put it away and come back to it next year. I don't have time to go home from college every weekend to try and fix it. I still need to get it aligned too. That's actually about the only good thing that came out of all of this, my new struts fixed the clunking. My passenger side front strut was BLOWN. It was totally ****ed. You could compress the strut all the way with your hand without any struggle.

sooo umm turbo daily driver you rely on to commute and decided to reuse cheap gaskets that should have been replaced?

does that sum it up?

Any oil leak coming from a vc is not a good one in my opinion. That is the only leak left, but what makes it suck is hoe long it takes to pull a valve cover off when the turbo downpipe runs right over the corner of it. It's time consuming.
Tyler, the gaskets aren't that old. Obviously if it still leaks after getting new gaskets then the gasket isn't the problem. Also, the gtp isn't my only car (That's why I can put it away and still go to and from school).
Dan, yes to tune, no to race because my car would get ****ed by your car. Lol

I bought a thing today. The kind of thing you STRAP ON before you use it..
