Can someone with an 04 post pictures of the fuel pump access hatch?

I'm going to do a fuel pump rewire on my 2005 GTP and I likely do not have the access panel.

So since I *may* want to do a fuel pump later, I'm not going to want to keep dropping the tank. So I'm going to cut out a hatch, but I need a real good idea how big I need and what kind of clearance I have.

Thanks.

When I was looking at 04's in the JY I noticed that the triangle area just behind the rear seat was the same size as the area on my 05' I keep meaning to buy an 04' access door and use it as a template. I am going this weekend so I will put that on my list of parts to pick up. I did see a picture somewhere here where someone had a picture of them pointing out the correct plumbing connections to the pump. There seemed to be about 2-3" to work with.

Oh wait I forgot you have the v6 so our fuel pump modules might be diffrent. Honestly best way is to drop the tank and refrence a location

My floor pan has an indented oval that looks like it may be a template for the cut, but I need to be sure.

Location should be the same though since the gas tanks are. Dropping the tank is a LOT of work just to find a location for something. Your pic at least give me a size idea.

I've got a piece of diamond plate for my hatch :D

Grab the cover from a 04 from the JY then you'll have a template and a cover then just sink some bolts or screws into it and bam... You"ll have the 04 hatch

Thanks, but I just pulled up my carpeting and this is what I find. Looks like I couldn't even use a factory hatch now.

My cover has magnets so it just comes on and off with no problem.

I can see now from your pic whoever cut that, cut the oval out first and that the oval is too far back. So I'll just cut a rectangle out starting at the beginning of the curve in the front and should be good.

Yea the oval is to far but in my case it worked out cause I converted to a Vette external regulated setup the pump also makes a straight shot instead of the 2 90s that are about 5/16 in size at best
