• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

CapnBreakAlot's Regal

Got the modded rails, 42.5s, ported blower and phenolic spacer on today... Aaaaand have a big boost leak.. only making 7# on the 3.4.. looks like I'll have to tear it apart again before Friday.

You think you have a leak...because of the boost number?

You should look for vacuum leaks, because if you have a boost leak, your car usually runs bad under vacuum.

You can hear it under load. Around 3-4# you can hear a screeching sound.
Screeching under boost could be a sign of a pcv issue......when you take your oil cap off is there sucking?..maybe the spacer blocked pcv or messed it up..not fimailiar with spacer.

I wondered about that but there's a hole for the pcv there.. I'll have to look at it again.

What I have looks exactly like this. There are holes for the pcv. No sucking or anything if you remove the oil cap. I think it just didn't seal right.

You could be hearing your seals scream

plus 7lbs of boost does seem low for 3.4 and s1x I think was still in the 11s. 14 with a 3.0

I know I have belt slip but it was going from 8-9# before the spacer, now it jumps from 6.5-7#. I'm pulling it apart and resealing it tonight hopefully. Any tips on using dimes to block the coolant passages? Will they fit right in or do they need ground down on the OD?

I might have had to grind the edges down a bit but they pressed right in Then some use jb weld and sand afterward.

So you are using a spacer under the blower not a IC?

Soooo being right above the exhaust in the enclosed engine bay doesn't transfer any heat once the spacer is in place...right?
