• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

UPS charged me for a piece of tape!!

You think you made a silent point, but all the guy sees is he got 50 cent tip.

And this is why he will always be working behind a desk he doesn't own. I own mine which is why I understand customer service and how to keep them. :) SOME...will never understand.

Another case of sloppy customer care happened to me 2 weeks ago. I went through a local carwash. On the way out somehow it squirted something, I think tire shine, all over my car. I didn't have time to go back when I got home. So I went back a few days later and showed them. It was a new kid I haven't dealt with. I rarely RARELY *****, I'd rather just go some place else. I asked if he could show some love since it was a 10 dollar "the works" wash. He said his hands were tied since they have a "same day" complaint policy. TECHNICALLY he is right, but he is risking losing a repeat customer with 3 cars over this...technicality. I smiled, said i understand, got back in my car and paid for another wash. He's a young kid who still has a chance to learn how to be a decent person. The UPS guy was in his 40's and has probably set his course.

And to think I was at the post office the other day sending out boxes. When I was done , I waited in line to see if my letter needed 1 or 2 stamps.
she was like it only needs 1 stamp sweetie and put 1 stamp on it for me and put it in the bin. No charge ;)

and UPS is charging you for tape?!

This world is backwards haha

THIS is a perfect demonstration of human decency. If you are an in tune person, small things like this make you want to pay it forward. Enough acts of kindness ultimately makes the world a better place to live.

But the polar opposite is true, unfortunately. If people act like self entitled d1cks, it wears people down. Worn down people snap and blow up government buildings. It all starts with a piece of tape. Be cool, its only tape.

I actually do all my business at this branch now. They are a lot more friendly there then the office by me - which are rude, unpleasant and impatient little trolls ;)

Minimum wage = minimum care.

You know they should totally get paid $15/hr though because it is hard work...

It was $.50, why didn't you tape it up good before you brought it in? They would not have charged you then, oh snaps.

*I am operating on a few hours of sleep and am acting like a younger version of me please excuse my craziness.*

And I'm mad.

How did I do? First time posting in rant thread. Seriously though, it was just a single piece of friggin' tape and they wanted 50 cents. I've dropped off lots of packages and never been charged. Gave him a dollar and told him to keep the change. Yeah, showed him!
Hard to make a call on this. You may have gotten ripped off, or gotten a good deal. How big was the piece of tape? :th_scratchhead:

Figure out the feet per roll. Estimate the size of the tape given to OP. Now you can estimate cost per foot and cost per entire roll of tape.

Was it nice tape?Your run of the mill clear tape, or was it duct tape with flames on it, or hello kitty design, or Justin Bieber tape...you could have gotten a deal.

USPS here they charge you $5 for a ROLL of tape if you forget, you cannot get a piece you have to buy your own roll from them. Duct tape works fine.

screw the tape ever wonder why you get billed twice for water in your house? Water bill / sewer bill that's a crock of sh1t right there....... LOL

The above comment makes about as much sense as this whole thread.......

Then he would only be proving my point. I'd have to start calling him bullyboost. :th_mischievious:

Got a nice ring to it. I might change my own... lol

I'm being my usual sarcastic self. I've also never needed any additional tape on a package. Maybe because I had half a roll on there to begin with? lol

You do know that USPS is going bankrupt and ... oddly enough you can order as many flat rate boxes etc for free. Delivered etc.

Not sure why they are going bankrupt ... but I have an idea.

Not really sure if it's fair to treat USPS as a business, considering their obligations as a government entity. The USPS can't just shut down the local post office because that location isn't turning a profit. I used to live somewhere UPS/Fedex would not deliver to (too far out of the way), but the USPS still would, since apparently if you have a mailbox, USPS has to deliver packages to your home.

Plus, you gotta have the normal government inefficiency in all things they touch.... ;p
