ILoveAudi's 98 GTP - Turbo Hoopty

Re: ILoveGM's 98 GTP - Let The Turdblow Journey Begin

Well my car has officially turned a piece of ****. I did my pump and rewire tonight. My gas gauge is pinned on E. That's not really what pisses me off though. The damn thing has a pretty nice coolant leak somewhere and I need struts. So it looks like I'm going to be even more poor.

Re: ILoveGM's 98 GTP - Hoopty Edition

John keeps touching ****... Take the old sending unit off your old pump and install it on your new one.

Re: ILoveGM's 98 GTP - Hoopty Edition

Oh so he's like me.

Touch it and it breaks.

John, just pay people. It'll be worth it in your case.

Re: ILoveGM's 98 GTP - Hoopty Edition

Started to tear down today. Ran into a few things. Biggest drawback was a rounded bolt head on the lim. Decided to Call it quits after I finally got it out. Just need to get the heads off and also inspect the water pump a little more, as it seems to be the source of the leak.

98 GTP - Slowest S1X Car In History

Hammered a 9mm on it iirc. Turns out my coolant leak was a result of a loose bolt on the water pump. I'm going to replace the gasket, as I've had a spare sitting in my back seat since I did my cam. Good news is the car should be on the road soon. I need to get my head studs and gaskets from Mr. Smuts as well as my valve springs which I ordered today and then I should have almost everything I need to start the rebuild.

Rebuild starts tomorrow. Finally have everything that I need. On a side note, would Bill approve?

Re: ILoveGM's 98 GTP - Rebuild Time

I'm feeling the love lol. Got my head studs in yesterday. That was about the extent of my progress due to church, grandpa's 80th birthday, and having to get some throws in for track.
