Dogbone replacement

And just remove the old bushing or whatever it is and use the old bracket? Are they more than a new bracket?

when you buy new oem style rad side mounts they come with the metal bracket. to remove and re install the bushing is hard as hell to do.

when you buy pollys. i got mine off cl for like 40 bucks, brand new too. but they sell for like 5 or 60 at zzp. you cut the old bushing out and install the polly in the metal bracket. they are 2 piece a side, so they slide right in from both sides.

Sweet, ill cut the old one out then throw the poly ones in, i just ordered some from zzp, was 48$. Is zzp pretty fast about their shipping? Would like to do on friday next week. Should i re use my old brackets? I think its just the bushing inside the bracket is shot.

yup, reuse the bracket bolted on there. use a very sharp knife and cut the old one in 2 then pry it out. pop the new polly in.

Should of purchased from intense.. I had ZZPs before and they would always clunk in reverse, sold them. Bought some Intense one piece.. Problem solved.

Huh. Ill see if they make any noise, if they do ill go with intense. Scotty yours make any noise?

Hmm..Does the bracket come off on the gps? I took the two 1/2 inch bolts off and hit it with a hammer a few times, but no budging. And you have to cut them out?

cutting them out is the easy way, you can pry em out but why? you'll never use them again.

if you look on the outside of the bracket its got a groove molded in there, the bushing cradles that groove and keeps it in there.

Ok ill look at it a bit tomorrow, i tried cutting them with a pocket knife, and wire cutters but i was tired finally got all the rest of the car done today.

i used a brand new razor in a utility knife. cut like butter. you need to cut it on both sides so its in two pieces. cut the center part out too, its just a slice on both sides of it. now you have more room to work the knife.

WD40 spray it between the bushing and the mount. And a pry bar and they pop right out. At least mine did, very easy.

I wd40 on it, put a crow bar in it, and hit it with a big hammer no movement but I was tired just finished my rear up on my car I did wheel bearing, trailing arms, struts and stabilizer links

I got the two dogbone mounts and bushings changed, it is still making the Pop noise when you change the gears from neutral, drive and reverse. Lower motor mount or trans mount to blame?
