Mikes '02 GP40 Coupe

1 will need more investigation.

2 is probably the connector down by the shifter under the center console. There are a few wires there that are known for breaking. You can splice new wires in no problem. I bet even with the key out (and in the off position) you can shift it through the gears?

not sure about that, ill check tomorrow and report back to you, thank you for all the help.

Edit,

and for the brakes what about something like this,
http://www.amazon.com/Power-Stop-S4...1426832091&sr=1-2&keywords=grand+prix+caliper

I know literally almost nothing about brakes.

Personally, I'd go the junkyard route. It's cheaper and they perform just as well. If a caliper is damaged it is obvious, and the only thing that really goes wrong with them is leaking. I'd like to think those are the 06+ Impala brakes you linked, but after quickly skimming through the page I see no mention of needing bigger rotors, which is a huge benefit since the calipers have more leverage.

ok ill go the impala route, is there any difference between the v6 models and the ss as far as brakes go?

Nope, as long as it is 06+. Or these: [TABLE="width: 514"]

so theres no benefit to looking specifically for SS brakes?

I have considered the options and I found some f body brakes but I prefer the impala ones, im undecided as of now are there any reasons to go with one and not the other, and also new rims, can 2010+ Camaro or G6 rims fit my car?

Rims won't fit without adapters. The F-body brakes will work fine, you just have to buy some sleeves to make the bolts fit in the larger holes on the spindles. SOme people have problems with the brake lines reaching, but you can bend the bracket on the wheel well out a bit to compensate. Turn the steering wheel all the way over with the car int he air to make sure they reach.

I listed the main pros and cons a few posts above, but at the end of the day there really isn't that much difference between the 06+ Impalas and F-bodys.

ok thank you for the help, are there any upgrades that fit factory rotors and pads?

Nope, they are too pitiful. 11 inch brakes are pointless. The Pads are bigger on the 00-05 Impalas, but the rotors are different (bigger).

Can I ask why?

If your going to upgrade at least upgrade what you linked isn't a upgrade. Spend $50-60 on foodies with brackets, refurb and paint them up. Then choose your choice or pads and rotors. And I bet you'll end up spending around that price if not less.

Nope, only the front brakes are better. The only thing that is different about the rears is the e-brake mechanism. It't changed at some point, but once I found out that it wasn't an upgrade, I stopped researching, lol.

ok so I only need impala brakes for the front? does doing only the front make that big of a difference?
