Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Winter Mode.

Yeah, if you can find one painted for $200, that's the better deal. Unless you can paint yourself or have a hook-up. That's less than I had invested in mine after it was all over.

Maybe it was around $250. Hell, I don't know. Lol somewhere in that ball park, but it was cheap to already come painted + shipping.

Looks good Dan! The one you edited may be a candidate for your calendar submission :)

Thanks Broski! I didn't edit that one. Joey edited that picture using Instagram's editing, so it's a little lame I think. Lol I'll have to get some real pictures sometime down the road with a real camera.

Hot Damn, the ride looks great.

Almost as nice as your GTO ;)

Your ride looks great. The saleens fit just right.

Thanks man. I'm very pleased with my choice of wheels. I was definitely nervous about the +30 offset, figuring they would poke too much. But I believe they are a perfect fit. Give the car a very aggressive/wide stance.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Winter Mode.

$235 shipped. I was already looking at the SLP spoiler, I just thought it was the SD spoiler since it has no name on it, lol. I still LOVE this car!

Thanks my man!

You need to trust me on this, do not get the SD Spoiler. You obviously love my car, along with many other people, so it looks like I have a good taste in putting together a Grand Prix - with that being said, go with the SLP Gen 1 Spoiler. Same one Danielle had, and what I currently have.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Winter Mode.

Yea, I wanted the SLP all along, I was just calling it the wrong thing, lol. I found it on Spoilers Express originally, they just don't have a name on it and I thought it was the SD.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Winter Mode.

Technically the "knock offs" aren't actually knock offs. Only 1 manufacturer makes the spoilers, they do not test fit them and just ship them out to the vendors now, so you will find warped ones and have issues with the holes lining up properly. 3800 Performance is the only vendor that is authorized to use the SLP name, hence the reason they are pretty much the only ones who sell SLP stuff.

Well you're on the right track! I'd pull the trigger and buy it. Exact same place where i got mine from. $235 shipped and painted is cheap.

There is a downfall to it though, or with mine anyways - Like Slick said, the holes didn't line up, which wasn't a big deal. It was an easy fix.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Winter Mode.

Sorry to be blowing up your thread, but did you have to drill new holes or what did you have to do?

You're good man.

I drilled new holes, but also installed some Garden Hose Washers on each mounting bolt to just barely raise the spoiler off the car. Why you may ask?

Because there's a gap between the front backside of the spoiler and the trunk lid, so water gets trapped underneath the spoiler with no way to escape. That's a big issue waiting to happen. So I installed those garden hose washers to barely raise the spoiler off the trunk lid (So small, you'd never notice), to allow water to run underneath the spoiler and not pool up on the trunk lid.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Winter Mode.

Yea, I did the washer trick with the stock spoiler. What did you with the stock holes?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Winter Mode.

Go figure, I already got some Curb Rash on one of my rims. Front drivers side, I hit a curb at a drive-thru on my way out, it curved out instead of going straight, and I didn't notice and nailed it. The sound it made, made my heart drop. I had nightmares about it. Pretty upset, since it's $1300 I spent and not even 4 days on the car, one is already damaged. I just can't have nice things. :( No one will ever notice, but I will and it bothers me.

And here's just a few more pictures:

That stance though:

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Winter Mode.

Replaced all the Spark Plugs today. Wasn't quite sure how many miles were on them. I believe the last time they were changed were last year when the head gaskets got replaced. None were smashed, and all looked good. So that's a good sign.

Also re-bled the power steering system, as it's been making some noise lately. Hopefully that's just the case since the Pump is brand new.
