Size 18 rims 2005 gtp how tall/wide can i go?

I have 18's on my 2005 grand prix and i want to put as much rubber between rim and road as possible without rubbing when i turn or hit bumps.
 


Had 235/ 40. But that left me with a bent rim :-/ but it was repairable for $100 michigan roads are harsh

I'm sure you could sqeeze a 255/40/18in there if they even made a tire that size that was cheap enough, but like said a 245/45 best suits that rim size.
 
i am currently running 245/45/18's and have about 3/4 inch clearance to the strut in both directions. the overall tire hight is 26.1 inches. you could probably get away with a 255 or 265/45 but it would be tight. 8.5 inch wide rim
 
Anyone ever rebuilt one of these m90 superchargers? Is it hard/ time consuming or pretty simple and straight forward? Also want to put a smaller pulley on supercharger any idea where to buy one or what style i should use?

Because 235/40 is way too short. It's only 25.4" tall, where 245/45/18 is 26.68" tall, and that is the height you want to stick with.

As for your question on rebuilding the supercharger... why do you think it needs rebuilt?

As for your question on the pulley swap, you have much reading to do. I don't have the thread at hand, but you need to read the "safely modding your 3800" thread.
 


No reason im pretty inclined i just like everything to be new and smooth if it can. it has 126000 miles not sure how bad interior parts wear in them. Also ive heard to use the 3.4l performance pulley

You can't just slap a pulley on and call it good.

As for the interior of the supercharger they are good to go. Only thing you might have to change is the coupler, and that is only if it sounds like rocks rattling at idle.
 
I run 235/50/18, it's only slightly taller than stock and will give you more sidewall protection. Not to mention they're usually cheaper than 245's
