1997 GTP Cam Install 200,000+ miles

I have a 97 GTP with over 200,000 miles. I was thinking about installing a cam, but I'm sure, if it is a good idea with this many miles. I already have the top of the engine apart (for those who do not know that).

I'm going to be replacing my rack and pinion, so I thought that would be a good time to do a cam swap.

With that said, what are your thoughts about putting a cam in a car with 200,000+ miles?

I have a oil pan gasket leak, that I need to fix. Lol....I'm still debating on it!

I have read that it's good to change the rear seal also.

im slowly killing the new pavement under my car. there used to be a 3 foot round stain from the last 5 years of drips.

With subframe lowered for rack and with top end off your motor you'll be halfway there already.

How would the gas mileage look with a intense stage 1 cam?

S1x cam - nothing changed. Stop and go driving poor MPGs as usual
i usually fill up at 230 miles about 12-13 gallons

That's around 20 miles per gallon. I was getting 19 miles per gallon before I started working on my car.

The problem is I don't want to put a cam in, if it is going to give me 15 MPG. Gas is to expensive these days. I'll be using my ride as a daily driver....So, you all get my drift.
