That's around 20 miles per gallon. I was getting 19 miles per gallon before I started working on my car.
The problem is I don't want to put a cam in, if it is going to give me 15 MPG. Gas is to expensive these days. I'll be using my ride as a daily driver....So, you all get my drift.
Thanks for being honest....Lol! I'll take your advice.you ask how much to do the install, and worry about mpg efficiency too? Maybe you haven't really considered all factors, but there's only one that matters! You gotta PAY if you wanna PLAY. You're asking the wrong question, and that is how to do it RIGHT! : )
Also, consider this:
Cheap/Fast/Reliable
you can only have two of those three at any time, so chose wisely!
I've had all my cam build parts just sitting here and waiting for the time (off from work) to jump in and do it. I say go big or go home, if you just want a Stage 1 cam, don't bother, just do rockers and be done with it. You'll keep your mpg efficiency (somewhat) while gaining a little headroom at upper rpm. Don't forget, even with that mod, there's still incidental costs... Headers, tune, wideband, tranny that may come into play and you best plan well for it. : )
Good Luck!
I just trying to prepare myself for what I'm getting into, that's all!Just do it. Quit sweating the small stuff... Once you start it's like Legos , just greasy oily Legos....
S1x is a great cam. You will be very happy
no one ever did a cam install and said they would rather have the stock cam instead![]()
Would that be stock springs and lifters or something different?Springs ? New lifters ?
