Just a Phantom Black Metallic GTO..Named Shadow

Re: Shadow the GT....O? :)

Insurance jumped about $90 cause of full coverage and having a Lien. Tax time though, the wife's Jeep is getting paid off, which should help...til JR get's his ride...ugh.

It'll be all good. Just get something that parts are plentiful for. And easy to maintain and you can pass on some mechanical knowledge to him

Yeah, thankfully Jr. is a gear head like me. He want's a minitruck, hoping to find a 89-93 S10, easy to work on and parts are plenty here. Texas has many junkyards.

Bruhhh, I have driven across the US just for school in the Army. A road trip for my retired butt is nothing but a thang. If I had the money right now, I would ask about it. Gonna start stacking my chips after XMAS for my son's ride.

good plan man. I'll keep an eye out for a mini truck. I got friends everywhere lol

What are you going to be looking to spend? The manager of O'rieleys is a friend he flips cars on the side he is always running across deals

Had a good last couple of days. Tuesday night swapped out the old plugs and cleaned the MAF with proper cleaner, then my filter cleaning kit showed up. Today I took out the filter and soaked it down with cleaner, then washed it and re oiled it(lightly), made sure not to overoil the filter. Also removed the inserts in the hood to make it a functional Ram Air hood. I read on the Vararam website that removing the inserts will show gains at highway speeds from 60mph up. IT DID!!!! It was so fun feeling that power. Took a little test drive video.

Some underhood pics

Torque converter. 3,000 is the stall speed.

Your stock converter likely only stalls too 2000-2200 rpms or so, thats why after the shift it dive bombs to 3800-4000 rpms.

A nice 3,000 stall converter would wake that thing up big time, more fun to drive etc etc. Only downside is that you'd be beating on it more and stock trans could crap out sooner.

I have been reading about guys putting 3500 stall in....enjoying lots of fun....then poop goes the trans. The mods on this ride are going to be slowwww, I'm still getting used to the fact that it breaks loose at 60 when down shifting...it scares me LOL, I grew up on V8's, but not one like this. I am working on getting a free in-car tune from a LS guru friend.

Looks like fun fun fun.
You need a resonator bro....is it really that loud cruising or was it the recording

Damn nice ride! Really.

Thank you.

It is fun and yes, it does need resonators, previous owner deleted them. It is really that loud...the windows were up!!

Got the exhaust work priced, they said with the new resonators and the left cat is breaking up...total would be around $600!!!

FVCK that sh!t. I am just going to save up for some sort of full exhaust kit with Longtubes and new stuff all the way back.
