• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

we welded the RIV's solid, did fine with street tires, snapped the axle with the 295's and a slow sharp turn.

if you weld it you gotta make hard sharp turns with the fat rubber so the inside tire has little weight on it to slip.
wrinkle wall slicks would undoubtedly help more.

good news is that unlike the 65e the 80e is a split diff case, you can toss the generic "phanton grip" lSD's into em really ****ing easy...where the 65e was a **** even with weak springs...compressing the PG and then hammering it into the diff case...the 80e diff would let you run some heavy **** since the case halves can be assembled/tightened with the phantom in there.
would be sweet to get a truetrack style case made...

Are there any options for a diffential on a 80e besides an open diff?
there's the phantom grip which is a generic ebay sold diff setup or there's the EP (engineered performance) setup by jeff, who's the guy that did the 80e swap before i managed to...though he did it with a diesel 4l80e TCM and tunercat, where i managed to control it with the OEM PCM
on my shelf is a set of worn eaton 8.8 plates and springs that i was thinking of making my own setup with the 80e case since you can fit actual clutches instead of bronze

It's almost a shame for me to want to go rwd with you getting all these badass parts.

lol if i did anything it'd be jeff's EP since its far better designed, even though its almost twice as much as those PG/PG knockoffs that are direct steel on steel.

could cram some really heavy springs in there since the case bolts together...its also possible to machine the case for wear plate ears from a more conventional clutchpack vs the one piece case.

thing is that you dont really need the lsd...proper technique is all you need to keep em spinning evenly

well spent the last 2 days (2 days because shop hours on post not because im slow damn it!) replacing a 7/8s chain that wasnt bad still makes the same noise and its driving my belief that there are infact bandaids........

more on this later once I figure out what it actually is.

What's up with the misc screw on furniture foot?

Interested to hear your thoughts on loading that flat stock in there vs having the load distributed on the rounded area. Looks like you were scuffing the pieces up with a roloc.

that was one of my initial thoughts for the rev pin boss foot to preload the bracket, instead ill likely make the foot solid since the tollerance between cases is so close

the round piece is already sorted out its the rest of the weldment that i have to finish sorting out

no rolock just deburring and natural stainless steel surfaces final pieces will be chromoly

Sounds good. Seeing how it would load w/o knowing you were planning to go further didn't quite seem like usual "James" overkill and perfection.

Pretty sure I saw a roloc in one of those pics!
