Spent way to long with a timing chain on my regal lol... going to the drag strip to help with a friends honda runs a 10.8 breaks parts all night, that's a honda for you...
About damn time
You probably can, I'm sure its not totally impossible to root it and OC it some. Unless it is totally impossible.Just finished updating the firmware and MCU on the head unit. I flashed a full format, so it was totally erased, and something must have been wrong before because holy **** does it sound better. It sounded good before, but never really sounded right. Now it does, that's for sure. I also finally was able to get Torque Pro to open on boot without slowing boot time, and with no prompts. Oh and I'm re-downloading Sygic with 5GB of GPS maps, all of North America. If I could only find a way to overclock it...lol.
These things are a strange animal, since Android isn't in control, the MCU is. Well kinda, the MCU gives Android control over a lot of it. The MCU has final say. I've tried SetCPU and Overclocked Advanced and they didn't work. SetCPU requires a kernel to support it though, so I didn't really expect it to work. You probably can, I'm sure its not totally impossible to root it and OC it some. Unless it is totally impossible.

Oh I have it rooted, but I can't get the clockworkmod, so no custom roms or anything like that.Lmao,
That is a strange animal for sure. I've been out of the Android rooting and all that jazz for a while so i would be no help.

Beer o'clock time!
Yes I did, that may be part of it. The impala is the newer design(03+) but still prone to issues I guess.
