ILoveAudi's 98 GTP - Turbo Hoopty

Re: ILoveGM's 98 GTP - Not So Raceker

Save up guy.. It's not that much in gas... If you had money to cam it you have money to drive to him so he can hopefully get your tune dialed up...
Well what would suck is if I drove there and then we still couldn't figure it out. Also, I don't have much money anymore because of school and football. I don't really have time to work at the moment. The car's probably going to see another two months of driving this year at a maximum. As soon as it starts getting cold and closer to winter, she's hibernating in the garage.

Re: ILoveGM's 98 GTP - Not So Raceker

3 hrs is nothing.. I drive that just to hang out with old friends every once in awhile. If you think that's a drive then your going to have a hard time in the future.
It's not that long. I never said that.

Re: ILoveGM's 98 GTP - Not So Raceker

It's a gamble you take guy.. There's no guarantee that he can fix it but you never know till you try right.. And make sure your car is up to order if your having other problems well then don't expect a tune to fix them.

Re: ILoveGM's 98 GTP - Not So Raceker

And I drove 10~ hrs. for booze at Triple Edge.

All points are invalid.

To be fair you had other reasons to be there.. Me and the Vag didnt. We came just to eat some BBQ and meet Dave and the Green Guy.

Re: ILoveGM's 98 GTP - Not So Raceker

I still think it's way to rich. Narrowbands are worthless in my eyes.

Not every car is the same here, but when I command 11.0 to 11.2 afr my narrowband only reads 900-915 all the time, my wideband is be slightly richer. So if you are really shotting for 920-940 on the narrowband, just guess what you are really seeing for fuel. Maybe like 10.5 or richer. And timing doesnt really matter, you'd never be in the throttle long enough to worry about high cylinder temps and EGT's.

Stock cars do command 16 with the adders but it will just drop straight back to 14 with stock IAT, ETC and knock tables. Goes even lower when it see's more knock. Thats why I just call for 13-14 on mine and run 11.0ish for fuel.

Re: ILoveGM's 98 GTP - Not So Raceker

In the Tuning Notebook there is actually a reference chart as to what to shoot for on the NB based on what mods you have.

Also I am guess that once a car is heat soaked it wouldnt take long at WOT to raise the ICTs.

Re: ILoveGM's 98 GTP - Not So Raceker

Can't believe the heatsoak on this car. Car runs like a whole different beast when it's freshly warmed up.

Im confused here.

Heat is not your friend. So why would your car being heat soaked make it run better? In that case, intercoolers are overrated. Lol.

I see how what I said was confusing lol. I mean, when it has just reached operating temps, it runs great (freshly warmed up). After running it for awhile, it's a dog.
