Interested in RETROFIT Headlights for your W-body?

:th_thumbsup-wink:

I am including aiming instructions with each set purchased. The first buyer should be receiving his set today and will be sending pictures when he has them squared away.

Another set on the way, pictures will be posted tomorrow- they will be for sale to whoever wants them! Figured I'd put them out there before going on vacation.

Sorry, did not post the lights for sale just yet.

Will be on vacation from the 2nd to the 9th, so I won't be able to do retros between that time frame. I will check in often from my phone in case anyone has questions or would like to arrange a set of retros for when I get back.

Thanks guys.

Conrad

So here's what I've come up with. These will be for the guys looking to get into retrofits on a budget. Decided it'd be nice to offer something different than what Classy sells.

The projectors are Morimoto Matchbox 2.0. These are capable of low beam and high beam, just like the Mini H1's.

Looking to see even better? No problem, add another pair of projectors (and splitter harnesses to have all 4 projectors on at once).

Price on these will be $275 shipped. They consist of brand new 04 Grand Prix headlights, (1x pair) Matchbox projectors and shrouds, and painted housings and shrouds the color of your choice. If you'd like a second pair of Matchbox projectors and splitter harnesses, add $100. I can also do clear corners for an additional $10.

Soon I will be working on what I can offer for 97-03 Regals and Grand Prix's.

Let me know your thoughts thus far. I'll also need pictures of these on a car, so the first couple sets will be discounted. Questions? Feel free to ask.

I'd like to see a light output pic of the retros. I'd definitely be interested in getting a set of these for my 98 over the winter.

Thanks for that comparison! Those pictures must be from TRS? Looks like while the Mini H1's seem brighter, the Matchbox's spread more light directly in front of them. Meaning, the Mini H1's will provide more distance visibility, and the Matchbox's will provide more visibility in front of the car. Would be a good combo pairing them together in the same housing- unfortunately I can't do so, maybe Classy will offer something like this. :)

Sorry, I don't plan on offering anything for 97-03 Grand Prixs. I don't have any output pictures yet, working on getting some pictures of the single Matchbox projectors soon.

Just curious was reading through it, i saw you got the matchbox projectors in the 97-03 headlights, but why don't you do the mini h1 in them like you did when you had your gp? Looks like good work though!

This is not something I want to continue doing. I'm deciding to cut my losses and sell these remaining lights. With a little more work, they'll be a great set of retros for a hell of a price.

I have one set of 04+ Matchbox retrofits. Housing sprayed black, shroud sprayed black then a dusting of grey (looks nice, very subtle), and the corner reflectors tinted. They are priced at $150 plus shipping and paypal fee, half of what they'd retail for.

So why the low price? Well, the first buyer had a lot of unforseen issues with his set. Granted, this set may not even have these issues, but I will detail everything this first buyer encountered with his set. (This set for sale is another set, the second set I've done)

First we had an issue with the adjuster not going up far enough. We found the cause and have a solution. I already fixed this set.

Then the headlights would not mount correctly. There are 2 mounting blocks on the back of the housings that need to be shaved down some in order for the lights to fit snug with the brackets on the car.

Lastly, and I am still amazed it happened- his headlights got condensation in them. I used the butyl that TRS swears will solve any condensation issues. I didn't tell him to seal the bulb to the projector, maybe this is all that was needed. I'll include my remaining butyl with the headlights. I'd recommend using RTV to seal the bulb to the projector, and if they end up leaking, use this butyl around the edge where the lense and housing meet (butyl is very sticky and pliable, you will not need to bake the headlights).

Here they are- again, this is the only set, and are priced at $150 plus shipping and paypal fee. Aiming instructions included, but at this price, you take the risk of the issues involved (IF they exist with this set also).

I am the first buyer of these headlights and I will tell you that he does quality work and our experience with these lights were just some unfortunate occurrences. I absolutely love these headlights and the output is definitely better than stock. We have been working closely together to fix these problems so this should be a good pickup for someone looking to get retrofit headlights. If whoever buys these has any questions, feel free to PM me and I will take you through any steps needed to make these work. Really is not had work to do and will take maybe 30 minutes of your time to finish it all. LS1GTP is a solid guy.
