97 GTP Issues Need Advice!! I'm stranded!

I have a 97 grand prix gtp, I parked it in a driveway with a slight incline and it ran fine. When I went to start it again, it would crank but not turnover.
Here's what has been changed / checked as of the issue:
New fuel pump
new fuel pump resistor
the ECM is good!
Relays and fuses are all GOOD and have been double checked inside and out
The battery is good, and I am getting spark to the plugs!

The OBD II diagnostics tool reads "link error" ( have tried with 2 different devices )
I am not getting fuel pressure, fuel pump is not turning on, and not getting electricity to pump (checked w/ test light)

What the heck else could it possibly be? I'm guessing that it's another one of the computer components, not the ECU, but which one?
Thank you very much for reading, I cannot get to work and work is 5 miles away. Pretty hard to haul anything on a bike!

Thanks for the input,

I've tried the fuel pump resistor bypass techniques, a couple different methods before, by bending the tab out and reinserting the relay, that didn't work but the one method that recommended connecting a wire to two slots in the "14" relay section turned my fuel pump on full time even when the key was off. Car still wouldn't start though, but it was the only time the fuel pump has kicked on.

I put a new fuel pump in, with the venturi port from zz performance hoping that would do it but I guess not...
I have a fuel pump rewire kit, i might try this, I'm still confused why my fuel pump at least turns on when I do the wire in the relay slot tech.

If you or anyone else has any other ideas or info I would appreciate it, thanks!

is there enough gas in it? I can have 3 or 4 gallons in mine and it wont run on an incline if the canister ran empty.

Try another fuel pump resistor. I bought one a few weeks ago thinking it was my problem and brand new out of the box it wouldn't work.

If you hear the pump, check the schrader on the rail for fuel. Even if the car is pissed off about security, it'll still prime the injectors when it turns the fuel pump on for a second at key on.

I never fixed the problem, my gtp has been sitting in a pasture for months! This sucks! A mechanic told me that a diagnostics tool would not work with my car. I verified this to be true, obdII gave a link error message and I could not get any codes. The supposedly best nehnic in our small town sai the computer is bad and not the original. Which I feel is BS!! The computer/ ecu works in my friends gtp same year. Car starts runs! This also does not explain how the car would just sop running at random! I get no fuel pressure, no spark to fuel pump. Spark to plugs, engine cranks but does not turn over. I bypassed the fuel pump resistor and even tried a new one. Did not work!! What could it be???

Check maf connections? Tps connections? Willing to bet that it might be engine related had that issue with my car maf and tps connections try those how long has it been since you replaced the fuel filter? FPR? Have you ever replaced it?How many miles on the gtp? Tryna help man been down that road

Thanks for the reply, haven't checked the maf, tps.. Would this cause the car not to pump fuel? I replaced the fuel pump. But later I realized there was no electricity going to the pump... When I pulled out the fuel pump relay and inserted a small gauge wire into two relay ports the pump came on car would not start though... It's not a relay, fuse, etc...

Its probably a wiring issue, maybe a rodent chewed through a wire somewhere in the harness, that would explain why the pcm works in another car but not yours, why you can't connect anything to the obdII port and why it wont start. I would check out your grounds first to make sure none of them came off.

Is the fuel pump a oem fuel pump? New? used? Ebay? Did you put gas in the tank like about 15 20 bucks worth? Sounds like you aren't putting enough gas in the car Man.. I out about 20 bucks in then see .. maf and tps won't cause the car to start trust me I would also do a fuel pump rewire since you have it in your hands..keep us posted

This thread was dead 3 years ago.
Read the 14 posts before your post & you tell us if the problem was ever solved.

I see it was dead. Yet this is the only post ive seen with the exact same issue.. in other words im restarting it trying to get an answer or an idea of where to start

You haven't said anything you've tried.

No one ever mentioned checking the vehicle ground on the trans I've read so much about. I'd start there.
