I got one head done for my car and was going to install it and my hg I ordered from az was bent so I had to return it and buy another. It'll be in tomorrow. I also put $70 of gas in the crapiece.

$500. Paints decent for being 20 and probably never taken care of. Its rusting underneath the gas cap above the moldings and same spot on the pass side.
Its got exhaust leaks and needs new door handles.

Yeah, it's pretty wet every where. Needs a good de-grease job for sure. The valve covers could use a change too. It's got lots of new parts tho...radiator, heater core, mufflers & cat (altho it's got a crap ton of exhaust leaks) and a few others. It hadn't ran very long in a while so when we started it tonight, it immediately pegs to the top of temp gauge and the light is on. So could it be a faulty sensor as well maybe? The oil dip stick was very clean and the oil cap was clean also.

I'll only get the wheels if he decides to scrap it. They need some major TLC cleaning, but they have almost brand spankin new rubber on them. Some strange off brand, but still...new.
Hell, the whole car needs some TLC. A major bath and some glass cleaning would help. It does have a bra on....so I can only imagine how bad the paint is under there. Top of the front bumper doesn't look that great to begin with, so it can't be much better underneath it. Apparently most of its miles are highway miles from indy to back here. The guy didn't know much of its history. But it's only 2 doors down from the new house, so it'll be close enough to drive it at least that far safely.
 
So managed to change 3 of my four struts today. The forth I couldn't get one lug nut off the wheel. The place I took my car to get the tires on and wheels balance put the lugs on so tight I had to put all my weight on a breaker bar to get every single nut off. The last one was so tight it was stripped and a breaker bar with a big pole on the end wouldn't budge it. On the ground the wheel spun it was so tight. Never be taking my car to the place again. Now I've gotta pay someone to finish the job which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. /Rant
 


Well, as I stated earlier I took the car to work and picked up the truck. I went over all the areas that were severely scratched with rubbing compound and went over the whole truck with polishing compound. After that I washed it again to get off any residue that may have been left behind. Considering I did everything by hand I was pleased, but it is far from perfect. You can still see some scratches when the sun hits it right. Since my plan is to order a PC from autogeek I waited to wax it until I can go over it again with the PC and will wax it then.

I took a before pic but forgot to take an after. If I think about it I will snap an after tomorrow when I get to work.

As for the GP when I took the truck back I went to get in the car and there was a huge pile of bird crap on my drivers front window. Since I had already put the hose and all my cleaning supplies away I just stopped at the car wash and spent $1.50 to do a quick wash on it. If I go ahead and buff it out next weekend I'll hand wash it good then.
 
take it back to the bad shop and tell them to take the lug nuts off for you, cause they put them on to tight. its a zap of a air gun and its off.

I had this kid come flying by me on my trip back across the state from my parents. I taught him a lesson today in the Regal haha.

In other news.. The ****ty chrome stockers have peeled even more and are rubbing on the caliper as the wheel goes around again.. So the wheels are coming off tomorrow and will be temporarily fixed. Anyone have some torque stars for sale?
 
my stock regal wheels pulled that act, when i cut the peeling chrome off they leaked 2 times as fast.

there is a fix. you need to pump the wheel up to like 80 psi, then spray with soapy water at the brake side of the wheel, mark the areas that are bubbling.

you then need to take the tire off, sand the inside of the wheel in the same areas you marked on the out side, then use a putty knife and put a thin layer or rtv over it, let it cure, put the tire back on. should hold now, you can air it up and re spray the soapy water to test it.
 


I am using the OCI butyl rubber from TRS.
That towel is my daughters old one that became the utility towel. It does look like my Cobra Jrs. but feels like sand paper on my delicate balls.

in that case if your up to it, you can take the tire off at home with 2 pry bars and a maillot or little sledge.

pull the valve stem, so the tire drains all the air, a new pair cost like 4 bucks. lay some carpet down or cardboard, then lay the wheel face down. the hard part is braking the bead, you'll have to beat it off jump on it hammer a pry bar and twist it, spray some wd-40 in the bead, but once it starts to break free its all gravy from there. flip the wheel brake the other bead.

now wheel face down again, you need to like center the bead so when you try to pry the one side off the other side the bead is pulling from the middle of the wheel, not high up near the bead. this opens up the tire more so it can slide off the wheel, after you get a second bar in there it will slide off. then pull the next bead off the back side too. this way your not prying on the fronts chrome finish. this is a bit of a job buy if your short on cash it will work.

or pay a shop to do it. spare tires work well lol ask them to take it off, and put it back on and balance it tomorrow.
 
Well so far speed daddy long tubes are crap for my silverado...going to have to relocate one if the primary's on passenger header it's up against the frame ugh

I thought about that but having to get the strut on asap I don't want them anywhere near my car again. It'll just be easier to have one shop do it. I won't have time to work on it again until next weekend and I can't let it go that long. 3 of the 4 springs are lowering springs and the last is stock plus needing the alignment.
