I tried messing with a 2004 Mustang and it turned out to be a Mach1

We were out on the road during rush hour so there wasn't a chance for a real race. We made a turn onto a secondary road where we had a short straight spot and no traffic. I punched it as soon as I saw he turned in behind me.
He gained a little on me in first, my car shifted, he gained a little more in second. It wouldn't have been much of a race if we had had a clear road. I hear they are pretty quick.
 


They're supposedly rated at 305hp. Never run one before but they seem to be a step up from your typical GT. Just like the other mod motors it needs to run the rpms up to get moving so you probably had the advantage from the start.
 
Like Fordman said, just a step up from a normal GT....IIRC decent drivers run consistend mid 13s in the Mach 1....now the Vortech Mach 1 is a whole different animal...

It's got a Cobra motor.

4V vs. 2V.

Runs MUCH better. My buddy did basement 13's with a Termi six speed swap, gears, ADS, and an O/R X w/ a catback.

This. The Mach 1 used the previous Cobra's engine. If someone only runs mid 13's, then they are a terrible driver considering the regular GT's were pulling high 13's stock.

my gxp runs high 13's stock, they shouldnt be running much faster.
 
13s? Barely. They are weaksause. Where the hell is our resident termi owner to substantiate this? All bullsh!t aside, non boosted 4V 4.6s wont pull a greasy string out of a cat's ass.

Close. Mach 1's used the WAP block and only the stick received a steel crank. The heads are the 03 cobra 4 valve heads not the "C" heads from the previous cobra. All 4v exhaust cams are the same but the mach received a slightly less aggressive intake cam than the cobra. Both share 3.55 gears but the mach uses a live axle instead of the IRS.

Stock for stock they are considered a driver's race for a ls1 f body.

Would you like video of a Procharged Mach losing to a strictly bolt on (and no headers) '01 Z28? I above all recognize the potential of a Termi, but 4V Mach 1s were a huge joke like most of the Modular Sn95 and up cars. But this is only my opinion. LOL When are we D-max/Ally swapping that Ram, by the way.

GM Camp: A stock LS1 will put several bus lengths on a stock Mach 1.


Truth is that they "usually" do not perform as closely the Ford Fagoners like myself and silver would have you believe, and that the gap in performance isn't nearly as wide as Government Motor Rednecks like Travis will preach. I do agree that mods are best left out of the debate for the Mach's sake. This particular argument is more than a decade old now...Murica.

Cummins vs Dmax, now that's an argument worth having, but not really Powerjoke > all.

I have seen many a butthurt Terminator owner require proof that the 4th gen that just walked alongside him had nothing more than a tune, with manifolds and cats still intact. I cant make everyone with an '01-02 LS1 drive, but the cars themselves are straight out fast, and you gayfers know it. :) That said, You and 'Sleigh are the coolest mofos here. And I do not like the cawk.
