Misfiring after 100mph!

It doesnt matter how good your car is running. It's a 3800 which even when running perfect is going to be starved for oil at the top end when running high RPM's

Really! Come on a comp g that can do 146! 100mph isn't much for a supercharged v6. Matter of fact something just mechanically wrong. If it was 100 percent easily 130 to 140 with no issues. These comp gs are pretty mean with our gearing.but idk!!!! Its confusing!

Its a simple misfire issue.... Usually caused by being too rich, and not enough spark energy. Gap the plugs down, get new plugs/wires/coils, etc.. its just a simple mechanical issue.

High load areas will put the most stress on your ignition system.

False. The oiling system is just fine.

you don't need to be going that fast. more stuff will break like your transmission, engine, etc.

Stupidest comment of the year award.

Thanks! I will try to start with that and change my spark plugs again and make sure they are properly gapped.

3 things Ive had issues with in the past that caused a misfire that was hard to pinpoint. 1) one single fiber was sticking out between the plug wire and boot that would arc under high load 2) loose ground bolt under the coil bracket 3) cracked coil that would arc under load. found burn marks on the back.

Simple things to look at. Id look close at the wires

For sure i will look at everything soon and start changing plugs etc. see if it helps

Okay i have a question. My car has ticking sound when accelerating from idle. It does get quieter after riding it a while. What should i be checking for in this situation with 102k miles.

Really 93? I think 91 should be good enough. But i did only drive it to ck i did warm it up a bit. I know cold they tick normally thats why its best to fully warm up the car. Its not cold so it shouldn't be an issue

Im going to have to take it to the gm mechanic he has a shop. Hopefully he can determine whats causing kr at the moment. The other shop couldnt answer my problem and concluded to start with trans fluis replacement but it made no sense to me flashing check engine has nothing to do with transmission

Get a way to scan it.

Checked for vac leaks?

I'd find someone who has a live feed scanner and read the fuel trims. Have you replaced any vac lines? Installed a boost gauge recently? Done any work to it at all on the top end?

So theres no current codes on it. Mechanic checked for leaks etc. all he found some body control module sensors but thats all. The only time my car bogs down is at wot on high boost after 90 ish. But havent done that in a while since i need to fix this issue. No boost gauge thered definetely boost. Plugs fuel filter and cat converter replaced about a year ago. I think i need a second look at it
