Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

97 GTP wheel/tire/susp (255/45/18?)

250-300, I've used agx's konis and bilsteins. By far the non adjustable bilsteins to me..can handle being lowered and on stiff spring rates a lot better. Some will argue that point but at 96k my OEM bilsteins are still going strong

What didn't you like about the AGX's?

I read both write ups, 4thgencamaro and yours 91park. Do you or anyone else have part numbers for front/rear bilsteins. I looked at RA/napa/oreily etc, all I can seem to find is monrow and kyb.

Because they stores don't sell them. I don't have p/n atm but you can go to Allshocks.com and find the manufacture replacement Billsteins. Warning there not cheap but if your wanting the best you can get then sometimes that means spending money. If not then stick with GR2 coilovers.

I blew them in time on coilovers. I also wasn't impressed with the ride, however that's just my experience. Lots of people like agxs and have great success.

You probably won't you'd have to look for grand Prix Gxp shocks which came with the bilsteins, however I'm trying to work another shock retrofit solution that will be way cheaper.

agreed. If you don't want to cut up your current shocks you could go with some gr-2 s and be good depending on how much you lower it

I checked em out, but they don't even list grand prix for application for any year.

I can't seem to find bilsteins for gxp either. I plan to pretty much slam it (.5" gap) and 4x4 in the winter. I don't wanna be replacing struts every year so Id rather buy quality, both in ride and longevity. Then again I only put 4-5k a year. How much were your steins and how many miles did you get out of the agx's. Is there a shock that you'd recommend that's between the agx and stein?

Edit: I looked around and it seems bilstein quit making the gxp struts, the have comfort and HD as replacements with comfort being softer then gxp and HD being firmer. The part# for HD fronts is 35-153153 and rears 35-153160. Not cheap, 230 a pop shipped. Would you still recommend that spring rate on stiffer rebound/valving for a v6 and heavy stereo. Im curious to see what your bistein alternative might be cuz these kinda break the bank. Not to mention I don't know if I could put brand new steins under the knife.

I think I got 3/16 plate in my shop somewhere. I just hate to use what little material I have left and burn oxy/ace (and time) for something that could have been improvised with washers.
Got grinder? You'll have to cut the washers anyways, unless you want them hanging out past the mounts.
