Hello all, this is my first post.

I have an '03 GTP and iv been wanting to mod it up. So I put an ad on Craigslist and a dude contacted me saying he has a pair of stage 2 heads for sale. He said they have the infamous cracks between the valves. He totaled the car and was parting everything out. I never knew of this problem with the heads.

So I started reading all over this site and others. And from what i'm reading, this seems normal... Kinda strange to me. And most people say its not an issue while a handful say to stay away from them.

My question is, should I consider buying them? He wants $600 for the pair. He said he had them leak tested and they tested fine and he paid over $1100 for them. I forget what brand they are, but I can find out if its important. I already have an XP cam I bought a while back and didn't want to put the cam in until I eventually found some ported heads.

Help me out guys.

I'm going through the same thing right now. And I read the same stuff about them as you did. Kinda scary to spend $$ on heads that are cracked.

Hopefully others will jump in on this as well...

It's always a crapshoot buying USED, then add the Internet factor! Ultimately the decision is yours... If he has a bonafide sales receipt showing where he got the heads from and didn't do the porting himself and was HERE as an established member I might consider it. But a CL sale? Hmmmmm... Not so sure.
