Ok. First, sorry if this has been asked already.

I have a non-mod 02 GP GT n/a 3800. Just wondering if running 89 (low grade) fuel would hurt the engine or should i nnot even worry about it?

87 is gas is takes from the factory, running anything else is 100% okay.

It doesnt matter what you want to run, a higher grade will just reduce some ping/knock retard at full throttle.
 
I've always wondered if the gas stations really have diff octanes like the pump says they do.... How could you tell if you get 93 octane for the 30 cents more your paying...??? Lol.

My motor can tell the difference and so can urs. They really have different levels.
 
if you run 93 in a n/a engine it should get better mpg, not a whole lot but better. and feel a bit stronger.

but running 87 is safe cause your n/a.
 
The EPA (I beleive its the EPA or some GOVT agency) comes around and randomly tests the flow of pumps for acuracy and also test the fuel quality to make sure it is the same octane it is claimed to be and also tests to make sure the detergents claimed to be in the gasoline are there. (BP-Invigorate, Marathon-STP, ect)
