Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

I wouldn't really know because all I've ridden on with this car is Bilsteins. But what I will say is the bilstein hd/1.7 ssc combo is awesome. Very firm, responsive. No complaints.
Cool that's what I'm looking for. I might have to look into that setup. I don't DD my car so I'd rather have a firm ride than the couch it is now. I like the adjustability of the AGXs but I've heard of some reliability issues. Bilstein makes great stuff. Thanks for the input!

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

U could use ur stock struts and make damn good coil overs for 120-160 a piece. Even better

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

Waiting on the strut mounts to be finished. Other than that yes. I do need to paint the other one though

Mine are shot. The lady I bought my car from lived on a very rough road. Everything is shot. Coil overs would be sweet. Where is a good place to get parts from?

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

I'm bleeding my brakes today. Do I do it with the car running, or just on accessory?
Help guys!

Thanks.

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

with the car off, you wont be able to bleed the abs module without access to a tech II or comparable tech tool to actuate the valves.

start with passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, then driver front

Yeah I researched how to do it and the order required.
So to do a complete bleed, the car needs to be running??? That's all I'm not really clear on.

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

you need a power bleeder, and a controller plugged into the obd II port with acc. on to actuate the valves in the abs module

you only need this procedure if air is introduced into the abs module otherwise regular bleeding procedures are in effect.

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

^^^^bam. His coil over thread I'm just adding things to. Lime questions I had when I asked him and some more pics

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

Thanks for your help guys. Just finished bleeding. The stock rear calipers took 2 "pump and opens". The Cts-v calipers took 3-4 per side.
I'm going for a test drive in about an hour. Pretty excited!

Also, I can't wait to throw on my GT500 wheels in April and see how the combo looks.

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

Awesome. That's my opinion of the swap. Good response, firm peddle pressure, even braking, and holy s hit does this thing stop good. I couldn't tell any brake fade from my first hard stop, to my 8th.

Overall I'm very happy.
