Will a 97 gtp motor fit into a 2000 gtp as a direct swap?

Today i got a clean 2000 gtp one owner, had cracked heads.
Now i have a 97 Black GTP and was going to put the engine offf of that into the white one.
Is it a direct swap?
Will i have any problems with different wiring issues?

What do you reccomend replacing on my motor before i do install it into the white one..

Any input appricated, thanks

Ps i have planned on to replaced rear main seal, and water pump, spark plugs. And hopfully a set of speedy daddy headers
 


Should work fine. Change the oil pan gasket/tray when it's out.

I'm not sure if the wiring would be different between a 97 and 00. Someone else will probably chime in.
 
Is there any advantages to useing the 00 SC or any disadvantages?

So use the SC off the 2000 and its a direct swap?
 
you need to swap the tb, injectors and maybe a few other sensors, and the alt and its bracket. you just take the parts from the old engine and put them on the donor engine.

the gen 3 sc was used from 97 - 03
 


I meant leaving the tb on the sc. Injectors and sensors are the same. Alternator bracket can be left alone if you want
 
pretty sure the alt and bracket wont work. just use what ever was on your old engine, put it on the donor. the tb is different for sure, as is the maf. 97, and 98 have the cast elbow on the bracket, and the alt had a different plug on it so use your cars alt and bracket.

97 and 98 the same maf, 2000 not the same at all. swapping your tb and its sensors is all you need to do for that.
 
So swap out the throttle body & Supercharger from the 2000 engine and bolt on the 97' engine

And possibly the alternator & bracket?
 
i could have sworn i saw threads where the plug wont fit. and who wants a 97,98 style alt bracket?

the threads i saw this in were ic threads, where they changed to the 99 up alt and bracket to make room for the ic hoses. everyone seems to use the alt its plug and the 99 up bracket.

i could be wrong, its happened in the past lol
 


The 97 had a dumb vacuum tree on the sc that's why I said use the 00 the altbracket is up to you. Id swap it along with new coolant elbows and lim gasket. The plug on my 98 is the same as my 04 and 99
 
Yeah i just swapped out those coolant elbows to the metal ones.

I was thinking about doing LIM and possible head gaskets just to make sure its gunna be good for a while
