Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - Old n Boring!

Your car looks great. Either hood would look good. The SLP style would be nice because you don't see it as often.

Thanks man, I appreciate it! Slp may be the way to go, just need to find a stocky for sale on craigslist..

not to steal your thread here... but i'm really wondering what harnesses you used to get that stereo working, and if you retained the wheel button functionality? i've got a very similar head unit for my 2004 GTP and bought a $150 harness from crutchfield that didnt work (to their credit, they took it back no questions asked even though i mentioned it was hacked up; 5 star customer service). any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yes my steering controls work..and I believe it's the gmos hook up, and the steering wheel interface from axxess. Luckily mine was hooked up from the previous owner because there's a lot of wires to be hooked up if you're doing it, lol I've just been swapping radios out since n never had a problem

Lol it's not new n exciting anymore! Haha. But still haven't done the fin n you all called it. Haha. Hopefully before summers over it will be done. N I got it January 25th 2013 I think. Around there at least. I do have an orbital but never really used one as far as a whole car so I was just taking my time by hand. I do need new pads for it though before I try it out. eBay good for that? Or amazon?

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - Old n Boring!

Amazon for the pads..with prime you save on the ship.
Man with some clay bar, Megs UC and UP then wax you'll will be surprised. It still takes time but a helluva lot faster and efficient than by hand.
It's like a big-ol can of Swirly-Be-Gone.(and some scratches)

I have to agree. You will be happy with megs ultimate trio by hand. You should invest in a DA polisher. Harbor freight sells one that is getting really good reviews on autogeek. It's also reasonably priced. PM me if you want to venture into a DA and I'll get you the right info to start you up.

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - Old n Boring!

Whats the difference between a da polisher n an orbital? Because I do have one n been looking at pads. Im tempted to just take it in sometime n get it all done. But id like to learn how to do this all for future.

Taken from Meguiars site.

In recent years, the Porter Cable Dual-Action polisher has become the machine of choice over the older style Orbital buffers for a number of different reasons:

* Smaller size and lighter weight makes them easier for anyone to use.

* Very easy to control, requires no previous experience or skill to use correctly.

* Smaller size enables you to work on small panels and tight areas easier with better control.

* More options for buffing pads and bonnets.

* Velcro® interface makes changing between pads fast and easy.

What's this foil business you speak of?
My key fob was starting to be a pain to lock/unlock so I did this n it's gravy now lol

I see I see! Well since I have an orbital I'd prob try that first so thank you!

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - Few Little Things!

Soi bought some tint for my foglights from lami-x. Went with the "tint" selection I believe. Could have went to "gunsmoke" to be more noticeable, but it looks good. It flows better i guess. Also, picked up a new shifter n a black with red stitched boot. I must say it turned out good and looks a lot better!
Tinted on the left, this is in direct light tho too

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - Few Little Things!

I love the looks of this car, not so much on the shifter, but everything else is DAMN!

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - Few Little Things!

Don't get me wrong, I have seen MUCH worse done to cars\trucks\broncos. That is well done, and done right, it's just not my style.
