• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Race weight.

Just wondering how light you've been able to make your GP, and what you had to take out/change to get to that weight. I'm looking to drop a few pounds off my Imp, and weight reduction is free. Already taking out A/C and everything that goes with that, universal bucket seats to replace the concrete and lead constructed fronts, nasty ass carpet and its sound deadening, and rear seat. How far have you guys gone to shed a few pounds.

For about the past year, my 01 has been set-up like this:

Back seat removed
Front Pass. seat removed
No carpet
No spare tire/jack
Slicks/skinnies

Haven't got an official weight, but I'm guessing it's somewhere around 3200-3300.

I had mine weighed without me in it and a quarter tank of gas (this is the blue one...) and it didn't have a spare tire/jack or trunk mat but it was a full interior car and was a smidge over 3400lbs. So 3200~ is probably spot on or pretty damn close.

Yet you still have the onstar box...:th_shakinghead1:

I don't know any of you guys but with the Mark VIII crowd I talk to people try to loose weight on those cars (and they are big and heavy) but what I always find funny is that those same people trying to shed 5lbs on the car themselves are a bit over weight. If you weigh 300 lbs yourself with a beer belly, shedding a back seat in the long run wont matter much.
