Top Gear Season 20 Discussion

MrPoopyButthole

#Billsnamechangessuck
Top Gear is BACK! Discuss Season 20 here.

1st episode is 8/10

Proper road test by Hammond to start, love hot hatchbacks. Fiesta is a tall car, Renault will ditch the Flappy Paddle gearbox within 2 years, and Peugeot will just fall apart. Love how Hammond says it corners flat as the thing rolls more than any other car I've ever seen on this show.

Scripting is getting a little old though.

There discussion on potholes was funny; they are complaining about how they filled a pothole, which is exactly how we do repair work here. SUFFER BRITAIN with your perfect roads!

BMW 4-series still makes no sense to me, but not as bad as Infiniti's blunder with renaming all their cars to begin with 'Q'

SIARPC is........Vauxhall Astra 1.6L

The race was good, Jeremy's accidents were funny...but they need to better editing. The car was brown one second then blue.

It comes on tomorrow night doesn't it? I hate these hotels not having many good channels. I miss having the BBC back home.

I only get Top Gear on netflix and currently on season 10 so I will discuss season 20 in what a a few years lol

It aired at 3PM EST, since in England it would be 8PM.

A stream on the internet is up usually about 15 minutes after a show airs

Yeah I prefer the episodes where they either go to some random place and buy cheap cars and try to make it through challenges or the ones where they build stuff but it was a good episode still. I cant imagine spending the 9-10 hours on that raft that James had to do. That must have been just awful.

The fiesta was definitelly the best one since it was the cheapest, and best looking. I'm sure since its turbo'd there would be cheap easy ways to make it faster than the other two.

I dont think I could drive a car called a "fiesta" though.

I wasn't disappointed, and it was funny seeing May miserable on that crazy yacht. The accidents were hilarious. I think for the first episode they should have done a supercar review, as they did in season 19 episode 1 with the Huyera (sp?). Still, a good episode. My highlight was watching Jimmy Car crash the **** out of the brand new reasonably priced car. Second best thing I've seen on that segment, behind Tom Cruise finishing his lap on two wheels.

Things I wish this show did.

-Tell us how many times a Super car or any car for that matter, breaks down during the test. I sometimes hear warning chimes in the reviews and they say nothing about it. Every now and then they mention the car broke a lot.
-Tell us the repairs that have to be done to the RPC, I'm curious to know how a car holds up over time. From what I gather it is the reason the Chevy RPC was gone so quickly because it was terrible.

I honestly think they have multiple RPC's waiting in case something happens. I remember one episode they said a celebrity had gone through 3 cars during her lap. As for breaking down, I remember a Ferrari had to be towed from the start line due to failure to start. That's about all I can remember. I wish they'd try more American car's, but at the same time, I'm afraid of what will be said about cars I idolize, like the CTS-V coupe.

Yeah I've heard the multiple RPC before, which I don't doubt. These cars get pretty beat up.

That Ferrari F40 that didn't start was a hoax, same with the Porsche 944. I've heard it was because the owners didn't want their cars raced.

They hate American cars and bag them all the time...I'm content with seeing all the things I'll never see here stateside.

I'll just watch the US Top Gear and mute it to see the American cars.

I hate Foust and the fat guy and the guido Italian guy that aren't funny.

At all.

I like when they do American cars on the UK, because they have a negative bias, so when an American car comes along they actually like, I means a lot more coming from them.

I remember reading somewhere that after they were done with the ZR1 here in America, the car was falling apart. But again they rag on these cars because its not theirs.

The Mercedes SLS Jeremy loved so much, had a ton of issues afterwards. Another car reviewer who got the car after him said there was a CEL and one of the wheel bearings had given up after less than 3,000 miles of use.

I just wish there was a behind the scenes look to find out what cars do well after they get done abusing it.

Honestly they rag on every one but british made cars but even then they make fun of those. We do the same here.

had a 454 corvette and it fell apart like a wet paper towel..... so they are not that far off had 2 corvettes like that tho. would love to see a chevy spark race

They have reviewed both generations of the CTS-V. First one they gave props too for most things but bad marks on others. James did the review on the 2nd one and liked it eventually.

They have several cars for the stars. Why would you expect them not to have back ups?

No one ever said in this thread they only had one.

Jeremy has a hard-on for Ferrari, I think all of them do. But in all honesty, I hate Ferrari's, I think they are terrible cars and would never own one. Most of the time they are either broken, on fire or lawn/garage ornaments (of course this sums up most Super cars). I think McLaren is the best. You don't have to like everything they say, take everything with a grain of salt. If its a car your dream about and want, then don't let what they say ruin your dream, sometimes what they say is a matter of opinion and every body's tastes are different. I don't think they "hate" american cars like they say, even Clarkson owned a Ford GT for a while, it is all for entertainment value.
