Im rebuilding my engine due to a spun rod bearing... everything is back from machining and all balanced and ready to go. my mods so far are vs cam 90# springs new retainers and keeps, headers, intake, and a ported blower.
now i know i want to get a tune but idk if I should buy a canned tune or have someone tune it for me. also i want to get a 180 t stat but not until my car is tuned.

I was thinking of dropping down to a 3.4 or A 3.5 s/c pulley with supporting mods depending on how muck knock i will have if any. oh and i wanna do a shift kit in my trans as well

what do you guys think ?

Get it dyno tuned, usually fuel trims from canned tunes can be outa whack. You should add a Downpipe or U bend delete to that list. You didnt mention plugs but id say AL 105's or 104's depending on your KR.

that why i said supporting mods lol but i also have headers so no downpipe for me

Don't dyno tune, you won't be running WOT all the time... LOL find someone to do an nice in car street tune for you. If you go canned tune, 1) overkill 2) intense or 3800performance

I'd have your intake/heads gasket matched. :D if you didn't already have port work done, it's the least you can do.

I'd say with a VS and headers 605's might be your ticket. If you go to a 3.4 you'll probably be looking at 104's

Ya im not doing a dyno run lol. I cleaned my heads inside and our and they were hot tanked while they were apart.

Have Gen v, vs cam setup, 60 injectors, 90 springs, and supporting mods running on a 3.4 for 91oct with 0kr but about 14-15 of timing due to tranny issues couldn't get the best tune, but it is good for now, till Paul gets the other tune done for e85 and have my tranny fixed should be a lot better. Running autolites 103, you should run the 104 if 91oct.

what all do you need for a gen v setup ? the blower the intake manifold and and a different tb right ? and odiously a tune and a different vacuum setup.

If you spent all the money to have it properly rebuilt then I would go big or go home. If your going to do a VS cam setup, I would have picked up a low mileage L26 and top swapped it from your other motor...

^^^ What I did!!! LOVE it!!! But I had my L67 heads gasket matched... From what I read there's not much that can be done to improve the exhaust ports IIRC.
