Homemade pre air filter.

Has anyone tried shop vac pre filter foam, or panty hose for a pre filter ?

Why do that?

Periodically unscrews 1 Phillips head screw, knocks filter out, puts back on.
Clean.



We don't need no fancy pre filters.

My K&N filter is a basically just a pre-filter.

I would guess it would double the life of an amsoil air filter. There not oiled like K n N and let more air through than K n N.Amsoil sells the blue mesh sock but they want $30.00 for it, going to improvise.

Pre-filter is just more restriction from the supercharger, and its just one more thing to clean, who has time for that???

Those are so the filter can't suck up water. I usually see them on AEM and Injen filters mounted low in the bumper. Think there called a hydroshield.
