had i guy look at the engine for the one of the caps that had a crack one time and he looks at the engine cover and says, "Whoa this thing has a V6"? Looking at the engine cover that clearly says 3800 Series III "V6" i said to him "Naw man it has a V12"... Moron.

Yeah, but that was in 97-03. Mine is an 06 and they dropped the GTP and put blowers on the GT

"No... only the GXP has supercharger on the old ones"

... no...The GXP is the V8 for the last generation. The GTX is a special edition supercharged for the earlier model.

"Nah man... you should check your power steering... thing's jacked"

Sadly I no longer have the prix.... But my favorite was when I revved by a kid as I was heading to school he found me in the halls and said, "man you're car is a total sleeper, that thing must be fast as hell."

Mind you I had a GT, with an intake and one muffler missing....
 
had the car at midas last week getting my rotors checked out, they say ohhhhhh GXP 3.8 supercharged!!! dude turns the car on and pulls in the bay, man thats a healthy V6!!! im still shaking my head cause i know that these people who work on cars 40hours a week know what a v8 sounds like especially when theres no cat full 3' exhaust and just a 3ft long cherry bomb as the muffler. they open the hood and dude says wait thers 4 coil packs.... wait this a 4 cylinder? mighty big for a ECOTEC....i walked back in the office and told the guy i had to go back on base emergency stuff.. ****in idiots.
 
Smh.. I get the same thing except reverse. Mine is s/c and they always ask me if it's the v8 lol

with the way my car looks ive had quite a few of odd/dumb comments. The two that I still remember are one with an old man maybe in his mid 70's who told me at the car wash i was at " Wow.... where did you get that painted? looks like a Chip Foose car" i laughed and took the complement but i highly doubt Chip Foose would do a GP lol
Second comment was a lady at the gas pump who pulled up next to me and asks me this: " Is that a Grand Prix?" "Man those cars are usually ugly as hell, yours looks ok though, reminded me of a monte carlo" lol
and of course ive also had people spit on my windshield when ive gone to walmart to get groceries.. definitly interesting to see peoples taste in cars come out lol
 
noone says **** about my car. the beauty of being oem+, people that care know and ignorant people dont know.
 
so i was at a car show this past weekend. here i am with the rest of the club and somebody walks by and looks at my car and says to his friend "i didnt know grand am's came like this and could look so good"
