Someone broke into my girls car

The took the stereo
Broke the lock and took some more stuff.

Mostly the stuff i bought her grrr.

Insurance is 500 deductible.
They said they will call us back on monday about the claim.

What do you do in that case?
How much is it to fix this thing.
 


This happend to me when i first got the gtp, broke a handel trying to get in, popped both locks, in the end took 300+ dollars, my new alpine flip out that was in the car less than 24 hours. and took my center console tray. Really pissed me off, chances are that the lock is in the door still man
 
all that holds the lock in is a flat C clip in the inside of the door. if its still good its laying in the bottom of the door inside.

you can buy new door locks. they dont cost to much. its the damage to the door and the linkage bars to the lock and door handles that suck the most. if they broke too.

almost makes you wish they just broke the window.

sucks funding some crack heads high for the night.
 
Last year, right when it started to warm up after winter, we watched 2 guys walking down the street looking into cars and trying doors to see if they were unlocked. Called the cops and their response time was amazing. They came flying down the street from 2 directions. One of the guys made the mistake of jumping our fence to avoid arrest. 120 pound German Shep put that home boy down quick. Cops thought these guys were responsible for 2 days of vehicle break ins. Never heard back from the cops if these guys were the ones they were looking for. Oh well...cops caught 2 guys messin with peoples vehicles and my dog got to take a bite outta crime.
 


Did your alarm not go off? or if you dont have one I would invest in a Viper Alarm. I had one on my older car and it would alert the entire block if somebody tried to mess with it.
 
sorry to hear man, i feel your pain,

thats the reason i stoped being stereo guy, the monsoon is good enough for me, but i understand if its not for you guys.
but i guess i havent really had to many problems in canada, we all just hold hands and get along
 
I don't understand why they had to break the lock inside.

They could pull the window and reach inside or even brake it.

I feel so bad cz i put this stereo in my girl's car even though she didn't ask me to
And now she has a broken lock and dents and stuff.
They even stole our photo albums (freaks)

What can i do about insurance?

my alarm horn is inside my car under the passenger seat. go ahead and break into my car, it's your eardrums vs my 110decibels.
 


I know it's an old thread and all but if you're still a member here Tony, that's good that the dog got them. That's what the Jag-off's get.
I shouldn't laugh 🤣, but it's sort of funny.
I hate thief's, we work hard for our stuff, and have a lot of "blood, sweat and tears" into fixing our stuff.
Fortunately I'm in a pretty good area but I had a lot of trouble the last town I lived in with drug addicts coming into my garage stealing my tools.
Broke into my place twice. Police didn't want to do nothing I told them who did it.
