01 GP GTP will not move in D or 3

will not move in D or 3, you can start it out in second but once you're moving you can shift to third gain speed and shift in to drive like normal
Checked fluid it was low, I added a quart issue was still there.
Its getting scanned by a trans shop Wednesday but I just wanted to brainstorm here.
I was thinking shift solenoid or forward bands
 


Well I drove it tonight..
Started out in 1st and it feels like it is slipping the entire time, once above 25-30 you can shift it to D and it will shift to the gear but will slip and bang out of gear and back in. Once you stop you have to start in second or first again. Also note: you have to let off the gas and then shift if it bangs horribly. At this point I think it might need a rebuild. Another 4T65E HD down

So I took the trans apart replaced all the clutches and the 3-4 band

I needed one little seal from the dealer and on the way to the dealership THIS happened to my car :th_nervous: Cylinder 4. the car saw 13* of knock -_- I guess I am doing a compression and leak down test when the motor comes out of the end of the month.

That's the exact piece that broke off my band haha it fell out when I dropped the pan.
 


It's really not too bad. Grab a blown one somewhere and open it up. I learned a great deal tearing mine down.
 
hate to be that guy who brings up a old thread but i gotta ask.. with having the tools needed could a transmission noob do it?
