cammed 96 mustange gt beat an ls1 corvette?

a kid i know has a 96 mustang gt 5 speed that he claims beat a late 90s c5 corvette. he said he started behind him at a stop light the vette put it to the carpet and by the time he got into third he changed lanes and passed him.

i personally dont believe him, he said his car has a throttle body, cam, cai, and a chip. i looked it up and his car runs 0-60 stock 6.7 and quarter mile in 15.1 compared to the corvettes 4.6 and 13.1 would a cam and a chip make it honestly over 2 seconds fast acceleration? i dont believe him so i told him i wanted to run him in the 89 vette that is basically only chipped but it is a ton faster than stock so im hoping to take him out and tape it once i get out of school.

anyone ever do similar thing to that car and get similar results i dont know to much about the moddded 5.0s? im not a ford guy but doubt his mustang is that fast
 


i think hes lying, he was bragging on facebook and i was laughing at it so i challenged him lol be fun to get a video of it and throw it on facebook to a corvette thats older and slightly slower than the one he " wasted in a race" in his words lmfao
 
i told him as soon as i read it i wanna see some vids, and he made the smart ass comment that hed get on installing one in his back bumper lol.... and apparently he is claming to have raced a gto with a 6 speed and the guy claimed to have 430 rwhp and was suprised the mustang beat him lol

Yeah, he's full of it. Guys like him are the reason people hate mustang owners.
 
that looks like a 5.0.... which would be a 94-95 gt (the intake).. does it have horizontal taillights? anyways, those cars came with like 215 hp or something pathetic. It would lose to a stock GTP, prolly with cams too lol


Realistically, it looks like he has an aftermarket intake, not a cobra.. but an aftermarket one. If it has head work, headers and a cam it could be running 12's.

My buddies pulled on me... Never went from a dig with it.. Just rolls.

That's when I was just intake, headers and shotty tune.. Don't know how it would turn out now.
 


Don't be suprised if it runs 12's... all i'm saying. From the description of the guy it sounds like he's slower than bluegtp91's slowbalt but the aftermarket for the 5.0 is HUGE and cheap as crap.
