ZZP vs Thrasher Shift kit

My trans is on its way out and I'm putting a trans cooler and a shift kit on the new one. The cooler will be flared and double clamped to prevent failrure.

What's your opinion on these two shift kits as far as quality goes? I'm looking for the most reliable solution.

Also, is there anything that should be kept in mind if i plan on upgrading the PCM since it'll increase the line pressure?

Thanks!

zzp one is a waste of money. Go with the Intense shift kit, its the most complete shift kit you can get. Im not sure about the PCM tunning.

my warranty doesn't cover performance parts :( I'm hoping that i can at least get them to pay for a rebuilt jasper trans

Hah! Fred Flinstone brand trans FTW!

Haha... Seriously, does anyone know what these extra parts do? My trans is on the way out and im hoping I can beat the piss out of it until i hear a loud pop right outside of the shop ;)

ZZP's kit is just a couple nylon spacers. The Intense kit comes with all new springs to tailor it to how you want, new accumulator gasket, new filter, everything you need to prepare the accumulator bores properly, etc.

It's a complete kit, instead of the bare essentials (if you could call nylon spacers that). Adding spacers only isn't the proper way to do it anyway.

I went with the Thrasher on my '99GTP. I had a turbo set up at the end and pulled low 12's all day long on low boost. I was very happy with the thrasher as it was more 'user tuneable'. I had a zzp pcm with increased line pressure and and cooler... never gave me a problem. Heard bad things with the zzp kits and that was direct from zzp themselves when they first marketed the product. I don't think they revised as it worked 'well enough'... go Thrasher and you'll be happy from mild to wild.

The Thrasher and Intense kit are both over priced. You get the exact same thing if you buy a $45 Trans Go shift kit and add the spacers yourself.

That's actually a really good idea Drew! However I think I'll spend an extra $30 make sure that I use the right size spacers and whatnot. I greatly appreciate all of your input and have decided to go with the Thrasher kit. Thank You!
